I have been reading reviews of Royal Copenhagen here on Amazon. For those of you who don't know this, these lovely items are now made in Thailand and not Denmark. I wondered what it would say on the back of the plate. I ordered one to see if I liked it. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality. Another reviewer wrote something about how he actually likes this porcelain more now than the older pieces he inherited. I feel the same way. These plates are deep and large. They're stunning. They come in a lovely gift box. The box says made in Thailand. The plate does not. I bought five from this seller on Amazon and four more from the big company that sells replacement pieces online; you know the one. Hint, hint. Anyhow, the five I got on Amazon were nicer. The four others did not have boxes either. I am delighted with my purchases from this seller. They were expertly packed and all arrived safely. Thank you for being such a responsible seller on Amazon. Well done. I plan to slowly build up a set of this new generation of Royal Copenhagen. And yes, I also like these pieces better than my older ones. I do plan to mix and match them and I think it will be fine. Nobody will know they're made from different manufacturing sites, countries, or time periods. And if a snoopy biddy turns them over, it doesn't say made in Thailand. It has the three waves, initials of the artist, is stamped Royal Copenhagen, etc. Normally I would not use this brand as daily dishes because they're too expensive. But I have put them in my daily china cabinet because they're so versatile, and well, life's short. Use the good dishes! ... show more
