I have put together many many miniatures and this one was definitely the easiest. I think this would be great for a beginner because the instructions and very clear and there is not any tedious cutting and gluing. It is very cute when completed.

I purchased this to make it for a friend and the very first step, the window for the door, the plastic is cut crooked, so the decal is not centered in the window. This kit was too expensive for a mistake like that.

This was so much fun to make. I especially love how unique this miniature kit is compared to the mini houses or shops I usually build. Everything is included (minus batteries) and this company is ultimately the best when it comes to quality. I have purchased kits from them multiple times because they are reliable and top quality. I don't have to worry about pieces not fitting, flimsy parts or missing anything. The instructions are very clear and show each step to avoid confusion. I actually finished this a lot quicker than anticipated. I don't recall the exact amount of time but it was less than 3 hours. I did appreciate they provided double sticky strips as an alternative to glue, however I went ahead and used glue for certain parts to ensure they stayed in place. Also it is a pain to peel up the tiny strips and remove the protective layer on the other side of the strips. But that's just my preference and the strips seem to hold up when I did use them. The parts popped out easily from the board and very little sanding was required. The wiring is easy and the light worked perfectly. Overall I adore my mini garage and the all the cute details. I love how the drawers actually work compared to a facade. Rowood (part of Robotime and Rolife) is a wonderful company and I have enjoyed each build without frustration. When it comes to miniature kits, they are the best. Especially for beginners. Trust me, I've completed miniature kits that were an enormous headache and required a lot of fixing and extra work to make parts fit or look nice. I am stubborn so I have that going for me, otherwise I'd have a pile of miniature houses left unfinished. I truthfully can not recommend this company enough. ... show more

It has been a long time since I did this kind of miniature work, when I was a kid I built a lot of model cars, dollhouses and dollhouse furniture, and honestly I forgot how much I loved it. This kit has a lot going for it, the detail on the scene is pretty spectacular, it looks like a mini garage, a very clean garage mind you, but it is still recognizably somewhere you go to work on cars. I really like that I didn't have to use glue, the double sided tape method is a huge improvement over glue since the adhesion is instant and not as messy. Putting it together was easy thanks to very clear instructions with pictures and correct numbering. I do advise not listening to the step that tells you to put the batteries in before doing the wiring, it is probably fine, but why risk getting zapped when you can just add the batteries after you secure the wire. It would be really easy to customize this kit, I am probably going to use some paint leftover from my miniature painting days and age it, add some oil stains on the floor and such. I am also tempted to have one of my model cars sitting in the shop at an angle so it looks like it is being worked on. The scale is a little off for a 1:24 model, but it is close enough that it won't look off except under intense scrutiny. ... show more

    • Intricate building kit
I think their recommendation for ages 14+ is spot on. There are a lot of small pieces, and because you have to punch out the wood pieces, there's a small risk of splinters if you touch a rough part before sanding it down. The wood pieces can be a little harder to fit together than what I'd pictured from the description saying "snap-fit joints for easy assembly," but it's definitely doable even as someone who has never put together that type of kit before, and easier than the type of kits where everything has to be glued together, so I think it's a good beginner model house kit. I really appreciate that it comes with almost everything you'll need. It doesn't come with a battery for the light, and it recommends an Xacto knife but doesn't come with one (I've been making do without one anyway though). Beyond that it comes with everything, even adhesive and sandpaper. I really like the double-sided tape they included. Since it won't run like glue, it's much easier to use, and it's very sticky. Like any similar type of model kit, you'll need some patience to work on it. But compared to others I've worked on, I would say it's a bit easier. And I love how it's turning out so far, so the effort is worth it! ... show more

What a great little kit. I just recently got into putting together these miniature house kits and I think this one looks great. It was easy to understand and easy to assemble. If I had the space I would do an entire community of these kits. This one is bright and colorful and just looks good.
