  • Poor material
Color: Coyote Brown
I got this specifically to use in the field. Everyone wants a nice field chair that's comfortable and easy to carry. This checked both of those boxes. It is extremely lightweight, and easy to throw in with your ruck since it takes up little space. I just took this out for the first time and on the first use, I get a tear. Not what you want while you're in the field. This being Rothco brand I expected this to be a lot sturdier than that. It is greatly constructed but the material seemed poor and not all what was expected. ... show more

  • Field Necessity
A camp stool is one of those great luxuries in the field. I used several types/versions throughout the years and a lightweight and strong simple trifold worked best for me. This version was the 2d best trifold I used (heavier and wore down a little faster). Generally it can withstand the weight with your body armor on, but if you want it to last more than a few months or a deployment then shedding the armor is best .. situation dependent. ... show more

  • Awesome Chair
I bought this chair because it was basic, lightweight and at 10 bucks a great price. When I got the chair and opened it I was pleasently suprised at the quality of the fit and finish. Its got a nice velcro strap to keep it folded up, versus 99% of chairs that dont and you have to force them into their bags. The bag for it is basic as it needs to be, with a drawstring clip. The chair easily opens up, at first glance I thought the seating area looked fairly small, until I sat down and then I realized it was perfect. It reminded me of a very comfortable Schwinn bike seat. Very pleased and will be buying a few more. ... show more

  • Folding chair
This is excellent for what I needed....easy to carry and easy to set up. Easy to fold up and move. I take photographs at baseball and softball and sometimes need to sit after long hours, or just to get a different view & don't want to sit in mud or red dirt. It is extremely light and the strap is on the chair so I can carry it as I move around and not have to be bothered with putting it in and taking it out of a bag. It is very small and sits low so may not be as good for everyone, but I am small so it was perfect for me. I had to be very careful in sitting in it once I set it up because it would tend to shift if I did not have the legs completely even, but I quickly learned to get it set and then push down on it with my hands to make sure it was level and steady before sitting. It is small enough that sometimes I would even sit behind it and use it to brace my camera while shooting. The price was affordable and it definitely works for what I need it for. ... show more

  • not bad at all
I bought this stool here in mid-2010, and have been using it every day for a year and a half. I have a disability that keeps me from standing more than about 2 minutes (or walking more than 7 1/2 minutes). The nylon fabric on the seat is now beginning to rip and will eventually break. But that's not bad durability for such an inexpensive stool, lasting this long under constant daily use. It's a shame there's no way to just buy a replacement for the fabric seat. The stool's height is 17". It's easy to unfold and use. The stool is comfortable enough to sit on for 20 or maybe even 30 minutes, but after that it becomes uncomfortable. When I carry the stool over my shoulder with its shoulder strap I don't really need to close it up with its separate velcro strap--I only bother to close it if I'm going to be carrying it by hand. I never use the carrying bag that it came in at all, though it's very durable. I'm sure I'll find a use for it somewhere. ... show more

  • Compact and durable stool
I bought this stool because I was looking for something small and easy to carry to use for festivals, fishing and even just for around the house at times. This folding stool did the trick. I am a fairly large male, I am 6'6" 250 lbs and I fit on the stool rather comfortably. So I'd imagine for the average size person this stool would be perfect. It is just slightly too small for me, it is still somewhat comfortable but if I were a few inches shorter I'd imagine it would be much much better. For being as compact as it is I was concerned that it may not be very strong or sturdy. Well let me assure you, this stool is plenty strong. I've had zero issues with any of the legs cracking, bending, etc. The fabric which makes the actual seat appears to be very strong and durable and doesn't feel flimsy. Overall for the rather cheap price of this compact stool I would say it is a fantastic product and I am highly satisfied. Also surprisingly the stool comes with a high quality pouch to carry it in. I recommend this stool for anyone looking for a compact and easily transported stool. ... show more

  • highly portable stool
As a photojournalist, I'll be using this stool for sitting while photographing sporting events, etc. I've used several portable chairs in the past, but this is the most compact and portable i've found for the money. It seems sturdy enough for my frame (5-10, 150 lbs.), and as you mostly need to lean forward to shoot, the lack of a back support won't be that missed. It's not terribly comfortable, but much better than squatting on the ground, and still gives a nice low shooting angle. Very compact and easy to fold up and store in its pouch in a hurry. Strap makes it nice to sling over your shoulder with your other gear. Best i've found for 10 bucks. ... show more
