This is a real workhorse lap desk. I use it daily as I work from home. I sit in my recliner with it on my lap and have accumulated probably 1,200 hours of use over ten months. I really like the mouse pad and the wrist support, not that I bought it for the wrist support, but that feature's main advantage to me is that it keeps my mouse from sliding off the desk as I typically hold the desk angling down toward me. So the wrist support acts as a mouse stop. When I occasionally us another lap desk I'm aggravated at how the mouse slides off and I have to dig it out of the space between my seat cushion and the arm of my chair. The one defect I've noticed is that after almost a year of very heavy use the bean bag type cushioning underneath is getting thinner somehow and seems to be at about 50 % or its original volume (see photo). That means it doesn't pad as well as it did when new and I'm feeling the wood bottom of the desk more often as I move my legs around through the day. But for the price, and given my heavy use, I'd happily buy another one as compared to any other lap desk I've used. UPDATE, Oct. 2022. So my second one of these lap desks made it a little over a year. Same issue as reported above: bean bag filling losing its pizzaz. But I'm getting ready to order my third for the reasons stated above. Haven't seen anything I think I'd like better for heavy daily use. There is literally a special place in heaven for the suppliers of this laptop tray. My back is SO thankful. This is incredibly high-quality, easy to store away, and FUNCTIONAL!!! An absolute game changer for me since I sit in bed for hours upon hours doing college assignments. I was really hoping to like this since the packaging was so thoughtful and professional. I am ECSTATIC that is was just what I needed. Mind you, I never had a laptop tray before, but I decided to give it a go after seeing these in Barnes n Nobles. Stop suffering in silence, buy it and your body will thank you!!! BONUS because you can place your bowl of chips on the sturdy surface without worrying it will spill on your bed (speaking for experience) :') ... show more

I love this to use my tablet with keyboard and mouse from my chair. It makes it easier to jump up and let the dog out and it’s obviously more comfy to work from a recliner. My only complaint is that the bottom does get warm so it wouldn’t be super great in the summer.

This laptop "lap desk" is sturdy, attractive, and has held up very well. It is a bit expensive but it's also vastly superior to the cheap plastic lap desks that you can get for half the price or less. There's plenty of room on this for up to a 15.6" laptop. The designated mouse pad is also nice (assuming you are right handed) and prevents the mouse from sliding away. The small holder is good for placing a smartphone but I've also used it at times to keep a pen or stylus. Also, unlike cheap lap desks, the cushion on this thing is well made and appears highly unlikely to tear. (I've had cheap lap desks with the cushion seams opening up, allowing little styrofoam beads to get everywhere). The pillow cushion is very comfortable. I don't find that I use the wrist rest all that much but it's a nice feature and also well made. Not genuine leather but good enough "leatherette." In short, this is an excellent lap desk. The only reasons I did not give 5 stars: If priced $5-$10 less, it would be a better value, and second, it's actually so well built that it's kind of heavy. Lastly, to the recent review stating that it broke after one night of use: I don't believe it. There is no way the pictured damage would occur on its own. That item was either damaged prior to arrival or it fell off the bed and the corner slammed the floor. This thing is heavy duty. ... show more

I purchased one for myself when on an outing with my family. Later my daughter confessed she wished she had purchased one as well. To my surprise I found the same item on Amazon and a better price point-so I sent it to her as a gift! This is by far the best lap desk I’ve every used. The material is soft to the touch and the fill is perfect for adjusting on your lap. The top is easy to clean if necessary and accommodates a phone, tablet, book or becomes a workspace. I have been searching for a good lap desk for months and ended up settling with this one. I bought the espresso lap desk and I am more than impressed with the quality of the product. The wood has visible grains in it which is covered with a glossy finish. The gloss gives the wood a warm look. As for the cushion, it feels like it is filled with a beanbag stuffing. The fabric of the cushion is softer than what it looks to be however, it isn't super soft and can become very warm if left on your lap for a long period of time. The product itself doesn't have a smell. (This might seem weird but some other products that have beanbag stuffing tend to smell but this one doesn't. Bonus points!)
