The advertisement is deceptive. Ross Simmons is a great jeweler so when I saw this beautiful earring I was happy to order. Upon receiving it I was disappointed. There was a card that explained it was not an opal drop but a glass drop with opal shavings in liquid (what????) it also said very delicate glass can break. When I opened the bubble wrap one of the earrings was broken on the bottom with what looked like a hole and you could see sediment of powder but no liquid. The other earring looked like sediment of glitter on bottom of orb and clear liquid on top. Ross this is a major fail. I thought I was getting an. Opal drop earrings as stated not glass. If you fix this to be an opal drop earring not a glass drop earring with opal shavings floating in water then please let me know. Ross you are better than this. ... show more

    • Don't waste your money!!
The opal shards inside the glass bulbs are not as described. They are not floating in liquid. Mine are stuck to the glass bulbs like they are melted there. Very very poor quality. Not worth the money!!!!!

    • Pretty and stands the test of time
I like them a bunch. Got them for my mother and she always has them on. She is sensitive to many earrings & these are still beautiful. Great quality 6 months later my mother still wears them nearly daily & they look great

These earrings are cheap and poor quality. The company was not helpful in helping me return them(intentional?).Even after i explained that I am 98, don't drive, and don't have access to a printer! Needless to say, I will not shop from this particular company. It would be nice if Amazon could require the return label be put in the packages by these #rd parties. ... show more

    • A little disappointed in Ross-Simons on this purchase.
I've purchased other jewerly from Ross-Simons & have always been happy. This purchase fell a little short. The floating opals didn't have much color/ brillance; just white in color. I expected better quality opals. The gold settings are beautiful but the opals were disappointing.

I loved these right out of the box. NO itchy ears, a bit smaller than I expected but they are just lovely.

    • Floating opal chips in oil
The earings are very nice and what I expected although they are a bit small. The stone chips are more milky white than fire colored which would make them more desirable. I read many reviews which talked about an eating being broken, but ordered them anyway. I too had that problem and one was broken so I'm in the process of returning them, but I will re order. Might want to change your packaging...add a small foam insert into the box or stabilize the earrings so they dont get jostled around. Update! Round 2..received my reorder today and they were just fine! Individually wrapped too so they didnt touch and break. Love them. ... show more
