I bought this kit to put a new coat of Manic Panic in my hair. I really only *thought* I wanted a brush and some clips, but I ended up using one of the 2 bowls in the kit - which are much sturdier than the pictures, they are not the collapsible kind which made them easier to clean - as well as the protective cape thing. I really liked the clips that were in the kit, they were strong enough to hold even my very fine hair in place (I often have problems with the cheap clips from the store clipping hard enough to HOLD my hair) and not damage it, and the brushes with the comb on one side were great for evenly distributing the color. Maybe I just didn't look closely enough at what came with the set, but I was very pleasantly surprised when it arrived. It was nicely packed in a travel case (not high quality or anything, but for what I paid I didn't expect even that) that had 2 bowls, 8 clips, 2 of each kind of brush, a protective cape (not sure what they're called), a shower cap, a pair of gloves, 2 rubber ear covers, and a few elastic pieces with ruffly plastic that I am not exactly sure what they're for. It was way more than I needed, but I'll definitely use it all again. I didn't see anything else that was as good a value as this BEFORE I saw everything that came in the set! Love being able to create professional results at home on my own. Mixing and applying hair color at home can be a nightmare, but these tools make it easy to do without splattering everywhere, allowing you to get even coverage easy clean-up. Great deal!

The hair clips are hard to use and pull hair a lot trying to get them through. They are also cheaply made and break easily.

Bowl was flimsy and unstable. The clips don’t hold very tight and the brush was stiff. If you have other options I’d look into them before purchasing this item.
