I’m a cosmetologist and having trouble finding capes since I can’t go in my supply stores to see the capes. I’ve had some of mine 15 years. Read reviews and these seemed decent. Ordered three. I’ve had them just a week. I have used them each maybe three times. And washed each time. They are not waterproof. They are too lightweight. The seam around the neck is very small. These would be fine for combing out a style and maybe some men’s cuts but definitely not for any chemical service or hair below the shoulders. They have runs in the fabric already. Would not recommend for a professional.

Since the pandemic, I’ve been giving my husband haircuts at home—I got this cape to go with other home haircut supplies. My husband hates when the hair gets on him and makes him itch—this cape is quite large, so it covers my husband well to keep the hair off of him and his clothes. It’s soft and so it’s comfortable around his neck. It has a Velcro closure at the back of the neck. When I am finished cutting his hair, I just put it into the dryer for a couple of minutes on air dry, and the hair comes off easily. It folds very compact, which is nice because it fits into the case with my clipper set to keep everything organized until the next cut. I like this cape; it’s better than others I have had in the past, and I do recommend it. I write honest reviews to help others make informed purchases because I read reviews myself and appreciate how helpful they can be. I hope that my review helped you!

I cut my boyfriends hair as well as my own. I definitely needed a new one of these. It does what its supposed to. Fits both of us more so me then him (hes 6'2" and im 5'4"). If the person wearing is big and tall this might not cover them completely.

For those who complain the velcro neck closure is hard to close or scratchy, simply reverse the cape (turn it inside out) and the velcro will then be on the outside. Pull the cape around so the back is at the front of your neck and it will then be easy to adjust the closure to your comfort. Then rotate the cape so the short end is in back if that's what you want and you're good to go. I use it as a shower cape with the long part in back to protect my skin when I wash out hair color. Works great and my back stays dry and stain-free as the excess hair color is washed away under the shower.

Very nice looking cap. Purple color is more like a rainbow prism purple. Only issue is it's too long for client. Will keep because it's a good quality. Not waterproof.

The cape is good, long enough to cover lap/knees. But, the velcro on the collar is placed assuming a very large neck. The smallest it fastens is a bit too loose for me. The sponge works great to pick up all the little loose hairs after using clippers.

I got this because I have a catheter on my chest for dialysis and can't get it wet. I needed to shampoo and condition my hair so I bought this. Fortunately, I had the foresight to put a plastic cover underneath and over the catheter. If you are getting shampooed at the barber while leaning your head back, maybe this will work, but if you are leaning forward at a sink washing your hair yourself, this won't keep you completely dry. Negatives: 1. This does not cover your back. So if you are leaning forward, the shoulder flaps fall forward and allow water to get underneath. 2. The velcro at the neck doesn't fit tight enough. I tried to tighten the velcro wrap as much as possible but it just won't fit snugly enough to prevent water from seeping through the neck area! 3, Because it's not a full cape with a back, it can fly everywhere. I used a belt at the waist to try to keep this cape in place. Even then, It shifts alot and moves everywhere. Just not very secure when you need to prevent water exposure. I got really wet and when I took off the cape, I found the plastic underneath did in fact get wet. The second plastic (from a dry cleaner clothing cover) did keep my catheter from getting wet. I feel this could definitely fit better. As I said, I needed double layers to stay dry. So have a backup. The material is indeed waterproof; it's the design that's bad.
