Yes, the white is a little see through - I don't really care that much and don't own a slip. Just wore a pale bra with good coverage and pale colored Spanx panties (granny style). I don't think anyone really noticed. My dress came with some tissue paper layered in so I didn't have any problems with the burgundy getting on the white part. I'm about 5'6" and weigh about 148lb and I have a larger bust, but small back. Got this dress in a M and it fit me perfectly. For the price, I was not expecting amazing quality, but it was decent enough quality to stand up to a Halloween party with kids running around. The arm bands are pretty shoddy quality - and they kept slipping down along with losing threads. Not sure if I'll be able to wear the armbands again, ever. I was able to get the medallions secured on the straps without incident. Overall, I'm very pleased with this costume and I received many compliments! ... show more

I ordered a large. It was a good fit and good quality. The bust was huge (I’m 36C) but an easy fix was to pin the cleavage shut which actually added to the overall flowy feel of the tunic. I’m 5’4” and it came up to my ankles so not very long, I wore with sandals. I have a curvy body type but the toga was surprisingly flattering. Material is thin so White part is a bit see thru; spanks did the trick for me tho and no issues with that. You can also pin the fabric that’s hanging from the shoulder across your body so it doesn’t drag and covers you better. The Arm bands fit ok but are uncomfortable, after a while one of them got loose and kept hanging off. If you have time just get other jewelry or body paint. ... show more

I’m a size 10 and I’m glad I ordered the large! And I’d even like it a tad bit bigger so I didn’t have the pulling on my tummy and back (my boobs are not small but look great in the front, caused some pulling on the back) Overall I’m pretty pleased with this costume. As an elementary teacher I wanted something when my team decided to do a special activity for our students at the end of our Ancient Cultures unit. I didn’t want it sexy and I needed it to be somewhat authentic. I find this to be overall flattering, a nice length (I’m 5’6”), and decently made and priced. The white fabric is a little bit see-through but easily mitigated. The v-neck, while not at all authentic, they used a lot of fabric and wore tunics and often long sleeves, wasn’t risqué and looked nice. Oh - it was nice to have some accessories- the medallion pins for the shoulders are good, the armbands are too small (might fit my students), they fit up to my elbows. I was impressed with this costume; for the $25 I paid for it, I feel like I got a really good deal. The material is heavier than traditional "packaged" costumes and when I tried it on it fit great. A little snug, but mostly true to size. The arm bands have elastic in the back, so they don't actually encircle your arm 100%. In the picture it is hard to tell. The white is definitely see-through; I have a tattoo on the front of my hip that is clearly visible through the dress despite the quality of the material. But the back is dark, and the contrast of red and white fabric along the side seam also gives a very slimming illusion to the fit of the dress. Intriguing and perhaps a little dirty- just the way a Halloween costume ought to be.... ;) ... show more

Good costume but not happy it came “out of the package” dirty and stained, even after I washed it the stain did not come out - there’s no way it’s unused.
