This baby lounger has a removable cover that can be removed to be washed. I just have to unzip the long zipper and it comes off easily. It is made of dense foam that is thick enough to support the baby. The soft sides are high enough to be taller than my sleeping baby but I wish they were taller especially if I were laying next to it on the bed. I don't fell it offers enough protection in that situation. But what I really like it is that it's portable. It works great when I want to lay the baby down when we're away from home.     • Good alternative to a Dock-A-Tot
I've always thought Dock-A-Tots were expensive considering they're essentially just pillows. But I jumped at the chance to try this out for my newborn who loves to nap in bed while we read or work. The side bumpers are nice and high so that I feel safe enough to walk away for a second to grab a drink or something without fear. The foam is nice and dense so when he does start to be more mobile, I will feel comfortable knowing he won't get stuck in too-soft bumpers and padding. The mattress pad and bumpers were easy to insert into the cover. The bumper portion has a double zipper that goes all the way around which I appreciated. No frustration trying to stuff a long pillow into a long tube! I docked a point because it smelled a little plastic-y or chemical-y when I opened the box. I didn't want to wash the foam, but I let it air out for a couple hours while I washed the cover and that seemed to help a lot. I'm very please with the product and will recommend it to any mew mom, particularly a new mom on a budget. ... show more
