The material is so soft it has no support at all on your ankles. One of the metal grommets fell off the first time I wore them and I had to try to rig it back up. They feel Squirrley and don’t roll very good. They’re just really bad but for the price I kind of expected that. i’m pretty sure that they will fall apart completely after a few times of wearing them I didn’t bother returning them. I just figured I’d wear them until they fell apart and then throw them in the trash and buy some better ones.

These are the Walmart version of Jordan’s … to be frank .. AND I LOVE THEM for my 10 yr old. He’s still learning he tosses them around he’s skates in them daily for hours and he loooooves the strings that light up. He will outgrow these in a few months probably and I’ll buy another replacement pair until he learns how to skate really well and he learns to be responsible. These are $40 skates … money well spent.

The skates started off OK. The boot is comfortable and as expected. Abec 7 bearings installed so definitely a starter skate. While skating on the rink, my child noticed it was loose at the front of one skate. The entire brace holding the front 2 skates fell apart. The lock nut was missing the lock cushion in the nut. So nothing was keeping it from unscrewing. Trying to find it sent me to various places because the nut was a metric measurement . Napa had the metric nuts. The bag was a nice addition but completely fell apart after 2 carries. I decided to change out all the wheels,bearings, nuts. I changed the shoe strings and tightened the wheel bars. So far, no more issues . Keep in mind, the base bar is plastic so again this is uncommon and we will see how it goes. It may be a good enough starter for a limited time. Just make sure all wheeled pieces are properly installed. He will grow out of them so they will be temporary . Good enough if you are willing to inspect before/ after each skating session.

I was so excited to get these skates, but unfortunately was a bit disappointed. First of all, I LOVE the wheels and laces as both light up with pretty, bright LED colors. The wheels light up whenever they turn, which on a skating rink floor looks awesome. The light-up laces are unique and add a great uniqueness to your skates. Now for the downsides- - These seem to run a bit on the bigger side. This thankfully can be remedied by wearing thick socks, which also helps to prevent blisters while breaking the skates in. - The bottom plate is PLASTIC and not metal! I am not sure the decision behind this, but this unfortunately makes these skates feel cheap and make me question how safe they are. Overall, these do make a great beginner set of skates for anyone that is looking to try out quad skating at their local rink. It definitely beats renting skates that have been used by possibly hundreds of people before you. Thankfully when I do wear thick socks they are pretty comfortable and easy to skate in!
