The Leisure Time Tea Room by RoLife has got to be one of the sweetest of these kits I have. And I do a lot of them. The packaging is always exceptional and presents nicely as a gift. It comes wrapped in plastic which I removed for a better photo. The components on RoLife kits are always the highest quality, well organized and the details amazing. The box is heavy duty enough to protect the components, I rarely find any damaged parts in RoLife kits and when I do the company replaces them no hassle. This kit comes with a few tools that include a screw driver which you will need for the lighting battery box and the hinges, and a set of tweezers. There is also double sided sticky tape provided. I like to substitute or back up with Aleene's Tacky Glue 3 in 1 formula for a strong hold that will stand up to time. You can find it here on Amazon. You will also need a craft scissors with a fine point, and batteries for the lighting. The paper components are on thick paper and are pre-punched like old fashioned paper dolls and their clothes. Use a fine pointed scissors to release them from the sheets to prevent accidental tearing. You will be folding, taping/gluing paper elements to create many of the details. The paper pieces are pre scored to make precision folding easier and to save time. The board pieces pop out cleanly, and the colors and print on all parts are vibrant and clear. The lighting is pretty straight forward although it might be a little fussy in a few places. Don't be afraid to glue the wiring in place so that it is tucked out of view in the finished piece. The instructions on this are pictorial with a few clear symbols. They are very clear and straight forward. This 1:16 ratio miniature is small enough to challenge but not so small as to bog the builder down in tiny tiny detail creating. I love that the finished project opens at hinges so you can get a closer look at the miniature scene created inside. The little shop door opens and closes as well. If this is your first kit plan on closer to 10 hours of hands on time. You will need to tae breaks to allow glue to dry as well. And glue really is preferable to the tape in some spots even though you can put things together with just the double sided tape. If you want to be able to display and enjoy your finished project for years to come...get some glue. Over all another delightful RoLife Book Nook Miniature, a challenging first project for those new to book nooks or a good second or third. I've done over 100 of these and I'm looking forward to an easy but rewarding build. For the quality of the kit this is a nicely priced project. It is listed as for 14+ and I think it would be a nice project for a crafty 14 year old, or a shared project for a family or a teen and an adult. I'll be back to update with photos of the finished build.

This is one of the best kits I've seen and I've done TONS of these (over 50 of all different types/difficulties). Let's start with the packaging. It's very nicely done and it's 90% cardboard. Only the clear wrapper, some of the baggies and of course accessories were plastic. So they definitely get a star for keeping the environment in mind. The images are also very nice and appealing. Next, the instruction booklet. It's printed on non-glossy paper making it easy to recycle. The instructions are clear and don't contain a bunch of confusing symbols. Everything is shown step by step with no mistranslations. The material is fantastic. Everything is precut (those of you who have done the more intricate kits will known what a time saver this is). The print quality is perfect and vibrant. They give you all the tools and accessories you need. This is one of the first kits where everything was included and nothing was missing. The sofa did get crushed a bit, but it was still usable and the part that was crushed isn't really seen from the outside, so I didn't bother asking for a replacement. I really love this kit and will be looking at the sellers other ones.

This Rolife Miniature Tea Room has been my most favorite DIY miniature build to date. I have built several of these miniature houses and book nooks and spent hours trying to figure out this or that or cutting tiny item and sometimes just gave up. This Rolife Kit was just the opposite: Well made, clear instructions, precision cut boards and all the paper pieces were pre-punched. No scissors were needed! Everything you need comes in the box. Each item in the kit is so detailed and the tiny pastries, cups and saucers and tea service are adorable. I will be looking for this name-brand for my next project. Overall, it is an excellent choice for anyone who loves miniatures.

This is such a fun and nicely made building kit! I got it as an activity to do as a family, and it's been great. It comes with everything you need to build this tearoom, and it's a much easier kit than I've experienced before. The directions are especially clear, and we had no issues following the directions. The pieces are well made, too, and everything fit together exactly as it was meant to. Furthermore, the details are fantastic and quite colorful. Best of all though is that it's all pre-punched, which makes it so that you can get to the fun part right away instead of having to take the time to do it all yourself. If you like building models, then I suggest trying this kit.

Pre-colored pieces, whimsical decorations, and wood-toned accents work together to create a fun-to-assemble and lovely tea room...with all the right pieces included. I've only partially assembled, but so far everything has popped out cleanly and matched up evenly; even the instructions have made sense to me. :) With a stated 6-hour build time and with so many of the 300-ish pieces being decorative, I believe a young teen could assemble this with little frustration. I'm looking forward to finishing this, getting the lights hooked up, and setting this on my bookshelves.
