OK...these are good figs, but not great figs. The sweetness is just right and they're tasty. The downside is that the skin is a bit blotchy and the texture a bit tough.

Canned figs are a through back to my childhood. My mother served canned figs frequently as a fruit with breakfast, an accompaniment to cottage cheese as a lunchtime meal and part of a pork or chicken dinner in the evenings. They were an integral part of our everyday diet. A few years ago, I discovered they were no longer offered as a standard shelf item in the canned fruit section of Ralphs Market or any market. Not much more to say. I love Kadota Figs and they are hard to find in local stores. So glad I found these here.

    • Good product destroyed by terrible packaging
The first order of figs arrived satisfactorily. Figs were delicious. Second order arrived with all cans dented to various degrees, some severely. Although uncertain, I shelved everything since no "seals" were broken. After a couple months I opened a dented can and it was fine. The next can, however, had "jelled" up the syrup inside and was not good. As I opened other cans immediately, I found them all not in consumable condition and threw out the contents. Thus, one can from the order was salvageable. I recall that there were six cans total. Poor packaging and shipping destroyed a good product. Too late for "returns". ... show more

    • The taste is...
This is the product of Greece and that makes me happy. However, it's not edible without goat or cream cheese and a little fig jam on the top. I cut these figs on halves and put a goat cheese on the top and little bit of fig jam. Still, the figs itselves are absolutely tasteless.
