  • It works almost too well for small rooms.
The media could not be loaded. It will fill a small room up fast when operating it in manual mode from the buttons on the back of the unit. When you press the button initially to set it to manual mode it will it will supply a big cloud of haze to fill up the room and then it has great consistent output after that. I can't recall it ever stopping producing haze once it starts after warmup. I purchased this hazer after two of my Chauvet Haze 2D units failed on me after many years of reliable service. I purchased this one to get me by before I purchased a Hurricane Haze 4D. I still use this Rockhaze 1000 in conjunction with the 4D and I have to sayit is just as reliable if not more so than the 4D. I really like that the haze fluid DOES NOT leak out everywhere while in transit like the other Hazers on the market tend to do. It is half the size of the Haze 4D and it matches the output effortlessly! In the video I run the two of them side by side outdoors so you can get a pretty good visual of their output. The Rockville Rockhaze is about 1/4 of the price of the Chauvet. I like both of them pretty well. Honestly though, if I hadn't already ordered the Chauvet before I received the Rockhaze and had a chance to use the Rockhaze in the field then I probably wouldn't have purchased the Chauvet. However, I was quite loyal to Chauvet for many years but the price difference between the two is kind of a no-brainer. ... show more

  • Great machine!
I bought two of these and have been very happy with them. I run one off DMX and the other off of the wired controller and both have been reliable partners. I have probably a couple hundreds on the DMX machine and still going strong I do maintain them but don't go crazy, cleaning them with solution at least once or twice per year. It gets used about 4-5 times per month for about 3 hours at a time. Creates a thick haze that adds nicely to the show. For the wired controller, I set it to intermittent, low output, high fan speed and that spreads out the haze fluid to help it last longer while still giving the desired effect. ... show more

  • Woks well via DMX
The media could not be loaded. Works as it is supposed to, but it takes a while to deploy the haze. Initially, I thought it was broken. I have used it for two gigs outdoors, and for that occasion, you can run it as a smoke machine for the immediate effect, as the haze will not stay, but be blown away. Indoors, the effect is very strong and stays nicely. I exclusively use it via. wireless DMX dongle and a software (Show buddy active) that receives Midi from my Roland Fantom 06, so that I have full control of amount and fan speed at all times via sliders on my Roland. Perfekt! ... show more

  • Controller didn’t operate properly.
My unit worked fine at the only gig we’ve had a chance to use it for, but the controller did not operate the way the manual said. Two of the buttons did not function properly and I was left with just the ability to turn it on and turn it off. Could adjust time on or amount of haze. I’m going to contact Rockville to see if I can get a replacement. ... show more

  • Best I could find for the price for sure!
This hazer creates everything from light to massive clouds. It functions excellent with both the included controller and with DMX control. Seems to be as well built as hazers twice the price! Simple setup, just fill, plug it in and away you go!

  • GARBAGE- stopped working
Used this 3 times and it stopped working. Only had it 5 months. Garbage.

  • Brings my light show to a whole new level!
Brings my light show to a whole new level! Especially the derbys and the lasers look fantastic through haze. A couple of key learnings I found and didn't find enough about in others' reviews: 1) You need to think about smoke detectors. If the venue only has sprinklers and no smoke detectors you'll probably be fine, because sprinklers only trigger from heat. But if the venue has particle detecting smoke detectors this will very likely set them off (it did when I ran it at my house, for example). 2) I wasn't sure whether to get the 700 or the 1000 and ultimately went for the 1000 because the 700 didn't have returns, and the 1000 was only slightly more expensive. My venue is a church gym, which is slightly larger than a basketball court in size, and has a tall roof. The 1000 can fill it with haze, but I find that I need to run it from different points around the gym in order to get good even coverage. In other words, the 1000, if anything, is not enough. So if you have a venue of that size, don't go with the 700, or get two 700's. ... show more
