    • Great, long lasting, very durable shoes. Break-in required.

These are awesome shoes. They last for a very long time. They run a bit tight, and pretty stiff. I use old-school techniques, that I learned in the Army, for new Rockports. I put them on, and wear them for an hour. I'm not going to lie, they chew on my feet pretty hard for that hour. Then I wear them for a couple of hours, on some errands that require walking. They start out biting pretty hard, but after a couple of hours, they feel like a good pair of gloves, and they're like walking on clouds. The third time, I wear them to work. I pack a spare pair of shoes, in case my feet get too sore, but they usually don't. After that third day, they might be a little hard to put on, but once on, they're super comfortable. I have a pair that are 5 years old, still look great for office work, and are one of two pairs of shoes that I go to when I know I'm going to be on my feet a lot. Very comfortable and stylish shoe. I adore wearing it to work and out for casual strolls. Would be even better with your choice of foot insert, but still a VERY comfortable and floaty shoe for everyday use.

I like these shoes because they are comfortable and durable. I am using them double duty - for dress for dinner on a cruise, then for walking 5-10 miles a day in cities in Europe. I had a previous pair for several years and they held up very well.

I am getting older and I didn’t realize that my feet have gotten bigger as I age. I thought I wore size 12 wide but it turns out I’m now an 13 extra wide. I've worn this brand and style of shoe for over 10 years and have been very happy with them. My first pair lasted over three years and toured much of Europe with me. I purchased two pair, one black and one brown, in August 2022 and on each shoe, stitching on the top back quarter has separated making them unwearable of because they look shabby. Obviously this is a manufacturing defect. Each of these are worn only at my office where I spend most of the day sitting at my desk. I alternate them through the week so each has been worn a little over a year. That seems like poor performance. I'm looking to replace them but I can't imagine that I'll buy these again. I would guess that the next pair would not even last as long. I've attached pictures to show the defect and the overall condition of the shoes to demonstrate they are not worn out otherwise. These shoes were a perfect fit and very comfortable. One reviewer said they need to break in the shoes, but I wore then all day at work and had no issues. I do wish they had a little more cushioning but I can always add some inserts. All-in-all, these are good shoes.
