At first I was unsure if I was going to like these, but they break in pretty fast if you're willing to take some long walks in them. They're super grippy on surfaces like concrete and marble. I haven't tested the water resistance, but it seems like a well made sole and the suede with canvas like material in the upper structure seem nicely stitched. No rough edges and nothing frayed. Was genuinely disappointed with these since they started coming apart not a month after I got them. Rockport was no help and the seller never got back to me when I reached out to them. I might have just got a bad pair but I expect better from this company.

There just isn't a good selection anywhere for size 16 shoes that I'd wear. Most of the time they're "boring". I wore black oxfords for 30 years, and when I retired I said "no more!". I stumbled on to these shoes while searching for something new, and glad I found them. They're well-made, comfortable, and they're not boring.
