This is at least my third pair of these shoes, and that illustrates both what I like and dislike about them. I keep buying them because they fit great and are comfortable. They also look good, and slip on easily. I always wore size 10.5 until about ten years ago when sizes seemed to become less standardized. Now I usually wear between an 11 and 12. In these shoes, I still wear the traditional 10.5 or 10.5 wide, so keep that in mind when you choose a size. The reason I need to keep buying new pairs, even if they still look good, is that the soles wear out quickly. Once the tread wears off the sole, they become dangerous. They wear down to flat, slick spots were they contact the ground. A little bit of water on a smooth floor becomes like ice at that point. It's a situation where I am surprised and almost fall because it takes so little water to make them slick once worn. That's when I replace them. I tend to get about a year from the soles. The uppers would last much longer. I wish the tread material was better, but I like the shoes, the fit and the comfort enough to keep buying them. They look good enough to wear as dress shoes, but are comfortable enough for business casual. Buy them, but keep an eye on the tread and be careful once it is worn down. ... show more

Great shoes. Comfortable, light, weight. Rockports are the only shoes I can wear all day at work and then party in all night afterwards. Sometimes I even fall asleep with them on and then dream about hitting home runs and scoring touchdowns while wearing them.

I ordered these for my husband. He has wide feet and is super finicky with shoes... which makes finding anything close to a "dress" shoe very hard. We got these in the double wide and they seem like they work well for him. They fit nicely and the leather seems very nice. They are much sharper looking than most of the other shoes he has, so they'll be good for nights out. He isn't used to "slip on" shoes, so he thought they were hard to put on, but we got a shoe horn so he's all set. ... show more

These fit right out of the box, really comfortable from the first and likely to get more comfortable over time. I got a pair of Bass Weejuns penny loafers at the same time and are too tight in the toes and big and sloppy around the heel, the sole is very stiff and so may take awhile to loosen up. I don't know how long these will last but I can buy two pairs of these Rockports for less than the cost of 1 pair of Bass Weejuns. ... show more
