I ordered 12W (I have wide feet) and they are wider than most wide sizes, tongue is water proff, so it wraps arroud at the top of the shoe, making a loop; that makes it a little bulky and tighter at the top of your foot, you loose laces a bit, but now top of the shoe opens up wider and makes them look not that great. Leather is kind of rough (both to the touch and appearance) and that is ok, that was what I was looking for, but these, look as if they are dirty (kind of dusty); so I applyed leather conditioner (low oil concentration) and now they look much better, no dusty appearance, but color darkens a little. When I 1st started bartending in 1979 I bought Rockports to work in and they were Soooooo comfy, I wore several pairs of them for nearly 17 yrs in that profession. Now 40 yrs later and recently retired from working altogether with plans to do a lot of pleasurable walking I decided to see if Rockports still fit me and were as comfy as I remembered and they were! I've been wearing this oxford 5+ days a week for 10 years, and very few brands actually fit size 11 wides correctly. The soles blow out after about 2.5 years of daily use, and otherwise will remain waterproof until that happens.
