  • New Favorite Work Shoe
Size: 9.5 Wide Color: Tan
I don't do reviews much, but these boots really helped me (I'm on my second pair) and they might help you too. They're not as tough as a construction boot and they are not a substitute for them, but that is fine. They're an everyday work boot that is built well and are thoroughly impressive in every way. The big attraction is the insole. They support your foot evenly and it shows over time in the wear pattern on the bottom. I've tried a hundred boots and what ends up happening is the insole material collapses relatively quickly and unevenly, and your foot is no longer parallel to the ground. This causes joint pain, particularly in the knees, and I have to wonder how many people live with this and associate it with age or injury, and never consider their shoes may be causing the problem? (Memory foam and other materials are particularly good for this.) While it sounds uncomfortable, the best part about these boots is a firm insole that doesn't collapse. It maintains its shape and provides superior support througout the life of the boot. This is the first pair of boots I ever owned that were worn out, across the sole and worn completely evenly, before problems like this began to occur. The laces and eyelets are of good quality and lasted the lift of the boot. (Although they would come off easier with round laces.) Comfort is excellent. Water repellent qualities are good, They're stylish, if you're into that. You can get them from Amazon in wide sizes you will never, ever find on a shelf anywhere. I am very, very happy with these boots and as long as Rockport doesn't screw with them in some fundamental way and mess them up, I'll probably continue to purchase them forever. If you are noticing knee pain or other joint issues from walking or climbing? Check your shoes! Maybe try a pair of these. I hope this helps someone. ... show more

  • Rockport makes a quality shoe
Size: 10 Color: Black
I've been a Rockport fan for years as I've owned a few pairs of their shoes. They've lasted me years and fit/feel great. Wasn't keen on the recent high prices but...it's the current trend. Ordered a pair of these black "shoe boots" to wear when I ride the motorcycle to work. I wear khaki's so I wanted a durable motorcycle shoe, while also something moderately fashionable. These boots appear to be very well made. They have a soft sheen to them, meaning not too shiny but not too bare looking. Not sure how "waterproof" they are as I have not ridden through rain with them. They do have more of a rounded front/toe, which does hinder it's "business shoe" look. But they are still presentable with khaki's. I use Happy Feet inserts and these shoe boots feel great. Fit is a little loose but if you insert some kind of support in them they won't bunch your foot up. Overall, really like these shoe boots. They're on the pricey end but, when it comes to Rockport's, you get what you pay for. Worth the investment and would definitely recommend. ... show more

  • Simple and sturdy.
Size: 11.5 Color: Black
These feel really well against my feet. The length from the ball to the toe is a bit too long for me so I would recommend going a size down. The width is perfect. The arch support is fine. Just be aware that it does go just above the ankle.

  • Great boot for the money.
Size: 14 Color: Tan
This is one of my first pairs of casual boots. I don't use them for construction or anything. Great quality in my opinion. I did have to replace the insoles as they weren't very good, but in full truth I do that to most shoes these days. I like these boots. Great casual look.

  • Comfort is superior
Size: 9.5 Color: Tan
These Boots are by far the most comfortable Boots I've ever owned. And I have worn my share of boots from Red Wing to Danner, Georgia, and the list goes on. Out of curiosity I went on a 12 mile walk and had no foot fatigue. With the superior comfort i noticed a sacrifice in durability in the tread, but I don't think it's worth giving any negative thoughts on these boots. I definitely recommend these boots for a soft-toed leather boot option. And they look sharp too. ... show more

  • Nice shoes, but crappy insoles.
Size: 11 Color: Tan
I like the shoes but the company skimped on the insoles. They are thin, flimsy and offer minimal arch support. My feet and legs hurt after walking in these shoes. I replaced the insoles with better ones, and now the shoes are comfortable. As I said, I like the shoes but I am disappointed that Rockport decided to sell a product with cheap insoles. It seems they are putting profit before quality, and for me at least, it has detracted from their image of producing quality shoes. ... show more

I had the brown pair for about 5 years wearing them everyday till the soles wore out. Just got a used black pair and they are comfortable and in great shape.

  • Nice hiking/walking Chukka boot
Size: 9.5 Wide Color: Tan
This is a nice boot. It has aggressive enough tread on the bottom. The leather seems pretty tough and it also shapes to your foot. I do not recommend using these to walk around a city, these are really as far as I'm concerned meant for strictly outdoor use. I wouldn't use them on sharp rocky terrain either but groomed trails with a little bit of light rock scrambling is fine. I wouldn't use them in scree fields or in areas that have serious potential for punctures. ... show more
