This is a good inexpensive table, but not recommended as center room table, the back side of this table looks unfinished, probably that's why they don't show a picture. But I'm general it's well done and erase to assemble

    • Decent lift top coffee table

Glad it arrived 90% assembled. I followed the directions it was easy to put the legs on. I inserted the pegs and hand tightened the screws for the legs. Do not overtighten the screws for the legs. They will rip the anchor out and you will be sorry. That goes for all self assembly furniture these days. I put screw on sliders on the foot of each leg. Make sure to drill a pilot hole for the screw 1st or the recycled wood will split. The lift mechanism is strong and at first there was a SPROING noise. I cured this by using a pinpoint oiler at all the pivots joints and on the end of each spring. I have found the best way to open it is by placing my hands at the center of each end, left & right, and pulling towards myself while seated. To close I hold the bottom inside of the table and push the top forward slowly. You will reach a point where it will move easy so move your hand to avoid a pinch. The media could not be loaded. I love the table. The scratches that came with the table are not acceptable. The table is too heavy for me to box it up and return. I feel a big discount or replacement is fair. I really do like table. Please help. The marker included turned the color reddish and didn’t cover the scratches. ... show more

    • The perfect apartment coffee table!
At first, I was a little nervous about buying a coffee table on Amazon, but it turned out great! I was able to assemble it all by myself in about 30 minutes. It matches my entertainment center perfectly. And it's fairly sturdy! It's the perfect size for my smaller apartment living room too. The lift-top is a teeny bit hard to pull up, but I'm sure it'll loosen up a bit over time. Overall, 100% happy with this purchase. ... show more

I assembled mine with wood glue for all the wood pegs. As a result, it's pretty sturdy. It arrived with minor scuffs in the thin laminate wood grain sticker, but they provide a black marker to cover up the blemishes which actually worked fairly well to hide them. I was disappointed with the range of motion in the lift top mechanism. It doesn't come up and out enough and I find that in order to use this as a surface to eat from, I have to sit on the edge of the couch. A better mechanism would have longer arms and come up and toward you farther. Also, the lift top mechanism blocks access to the center cubby from the couch, so you can't keep anything in that section that you'd want to get to when seated. To get to anything in there, you'd have to have the top raised and then get up to grab whatever it is you need and then sit down. Not a big deal, but something that could have been avoided if this were designed with a little more consideration to the end user. Assembly was pretty straightforward and won't be difficult for anyone who's assembled boxed furniture with those camlocks before. Oh, and one more minor disappointment, the three cubbies underneath are not large enough (height or width) for those collapsible fabric storage cubes, so if you want to store anything under there and keep it tidy, you'll need to take measurements and find some wicker baskets or trays or something. ... show more

    • Pretty desk with good lift-top function.
I have a small studio, so I wanted a multifunctional desk. This desk looks much classier than I feared, although it's still obviously composite wood if you look closely, and it also came with one corner chipped - I think this must be pretty common, because the desk came with a brown marker, apparently meant to cover any blemishes. It's surprisingly sturdy, including when you have the top lifted up - I've used it as a computer desk, and the top stays up. I like the storage underneath the top, although since the top doesn't open all the way you have to kind of awkwardly reach to get anything - so it's best for items you don't use very often. Note that even with the top lifted the desk is pretty low; I use it with a low armchair instead of a desk chair, and I think it would be awkward to use with a taller chair. So make sure to measure things out before buying it. That said, it's a nice desk and I've already received compliments on it because it looks classy. ... show more

The table (solid top version, not the lift top one) is nice and appears sturdy. But the reason for 3 starts is because all of the specs on Amazon say the table is 19” wide/deep and 21.9” tall. That is wrong. It is 19” tall and 21.9” wide/deep. We needed the table to be 21.9” tall so now we have a table that is too short and have to spend more time and money to find a way to raise it up about 3”. ... show more
