I purchased the RockBros Lightweight Mountain Bike Pedals for my eMTB, and I must say, they exceeded my expectations! These pedals are fantastic and offer an unbeatable combination of performance, comfort, and durability. I have riden with them for over a year and I am back to buy another pair for another bike! These are very lightweight and offer a great combination of nylon with metal cleats. The nylon slides much better on rocks when mountain biking and the metal cleats don't break and hold incredible. Another remarkable feature is the smooth and reliable bearing system. The pedals spin effortlessly, which not only makes my rides smoother but also adds to the longevity of the pedals themselves. They still perform incredible over a year later! What really impressed me was the affordability of these pedals without compromising on quality. They feel just as good as some of the more expensive brands I've tried in the past.

I think these are copies of another pedal that is exactly the same; but these are fine pedals. The pins provide great traction (in fact, they "lock into" the soles of my shoes quite well". The pins are replaceable with M3x10mm cap head screws. The spindles are true. I've got 2.5 years on my first pair and I'm very happy with them.

This is an initial impression review. I will be installing them today and going on regular rides with them starting tomorrow. I expect bicycle pedals to last 5-10,000+ miles minimum before problems (usually bearing failure). I will update this review if I encounter a problem before that mileage is reached. In general, these pedals initially feel quite sturdy. They feel like they are made of aluminum. The bearings are smooth, and a tiny bit stiff out of the box. NOTE: It would be nice if Rock Bros provided information regarding the quantity, size and type(s) of bearings used in these pedals. In lieu of that service to the customer, I took them apart to verify the bearing set-up. Unfortunately, like so many inexpensive pedals, these use "DU bearings" (a simple plastic or metal, 'self-lubricating' bushing -- I AM NOT A FAN OF DU BEARINGS!) as the main load-bearing surface. I assume that the stiffness will break in fairly quickly, then provide a smooth pedaling experience for a while, followed by the pedals loosening up and getting sloppy over time as the DU bearings wear down. You may have noticed that my pedal has a 1/2 toeclip. These pedals do not accommodate toeclips... unless you have an adapter, and do a few minor modifications. I designed a 3D printable adapter today, which prints fast and works well, and lets you install 1/2 and full toeclips. If you are into 3D printing, the design is free on printables.

I've seen this brand before but was hesitant due to the price seemingly very low but I was honestly surprised and glad I tried it out to replace my Stamp 1 pedals that the pins were corroded and worn out; so much so that I couldn't get some of the screws out without stripping it so it was time for new. Stamp 1 needs to take note... The Rockbros pedals are hair smaller, but not by much. The weight and overall feeling of the pedals on my 60 lbs e-bike is very grippy and I did a 20-mile ride with no issues. I usually stand on my bike a lot with my 230 lb frame. I still prefer the 14mm wrench to install or take off the pedal as it's easier to take them off when needed especially. The bearings are okay for the price and work as should. People may scoff at Nylon but unless you're doing some serious grinding against the pedals or weigh a bit bodyweight-wise, these are perfectly fine for most riders.

These Rockbros pedals are clearly a clone/copy/knock-off of the more expensive Race Face Chester pedals. Some cyclists are just adamantly opposed to such Chinese knock-off products like this and denigrate the quality without every testing. I've tested these (along with similar pedals from Fooker & Myzrh) and they're great. And that's the bottom line--these are fine pedals that function identically to Race Face Chesters which cost 2.5x or 3x the price. So if you're a mountain biker on the fence about picking up these because of safety/reliability concerns--the Rockbros are great. If you're riding nothing but black-diamond downhill then, by all means, buy the most expensive kit you can get. I should also note that Rockbros (the company) has become a pretty large bike accessory company. They're not just a fly-by-night Chinese drop-ship company. They manufacture a wide variety of biking gear & accessories and have a solid reputation. I own a number of products from them (from winter cycling balaclavas, pedals, sunglasses, gloves, and bike bells) and can attest that they're not just in it for a quick buck. They've built their brand up in the USA via Amazon over a period of years and care about quality. So yes, they're knock-offs of Race Face Chester pedals, but they're very good quality, function identically, and are very inexpensive.
