This book was written by Doug Roe, a GM Field Support Engineer who was a hands-on guru on getting these mechanical computers harmonized with the engines they fed. If you read and internalize the info in this book, you will be able to not only return the Rochester carbs to as-new performance, you will also be able to dial in the carb to your specific combination of heads/cam/intake, etc. I bought this book to replace the original that I bought new back in 1973. It's good to have this scientific, no-nonsense book back in my personal motorhead library. No kidding, the Q-Jet is one of the very best carbs ever made for street/track use! ... show more

    • Very good information for the older Rochesters
This review is specifically about the OLDER edition of the Doug Roe/Bill Fisher "Rochester Carburetors" book. Yup, the edition with that ever-so-'70's swirly green-and-blue background and the WFO Q-Jet, having a publish date of 1973. There is no coverage of electronically-controlled carbs, and no coverage of Rochester TBI fuel injection--but--there IS coverage of the less-popular, older carburetors that has been REMOVED from the newer editions of this book.
