I thought this would be sized based on ice skate sizing but it's based on shoe size. Product was nice, though. Sturdy, looks to be well made. Had to send it back for a different size twice. Third times the charm.. I wear a women's US 9-ish in shoes and the 10 fits snug (not painful). Blades are sharp enough to use out of the box. I'm new to ice skating so I couldn't tell a difference on whether or not they needed to be sharpened more. Took them to the lake in Vermont and aside from my clumsiness from aging, the skates did well. I felt stable and did not fear for my ankles. ... show more

I'm not a terribly experienced skater, I am self-taught with the occasional advice of fellow skaters and a couple experienced friends. However with practice and my own skates I have acquired the skill to skate backward, honestly faster backward than forward. Lol. As someone who doesn't know as much as I could about skating I can't rate quality compared to other skates. However I can say that they beat renting skates any day, and it did have one pair that I got used and they worked great but when I found these I was in love, they are comfortable they're easily adjustable very stylish and makes skating very enjoyable without the hassle of rented, used or low quality skates in my opinion. ... show more

these are beautiful skates. however they have a horrible design for the laces. have worn them once and was worried i would rip out the eyelet (for lack of a better word. it is just a ribbon-esque material folded over and sewn into the skate, that the laces go through.) for the laces. skates need to be laced tightly, and it concerned me greatly that i would rip out the part to lace up. hoping i am wrong, but feel it is a major design flaw that could easily be fixed by just putting a hole for the eyelet. ... show more
