The media could not be loaded. When it comes to finding the perfect treat for my picky pups, I’ve kissed more than my fair share of frogs. So, you can imagine my skepticism when I came across the Rocco & Roxie Supply Co. Jerky Dog Treats. But lo and behold, these treats turned out to be a fairy tale come true! First off, let’s talk about the dogs. I have a trio of canine connoisseurs who turn their noses up at anything less than gourmet. So, when I offered them these jerky treats, I half expected them to stage a mutiny. Instead, they gobbled them up like they were the finest delicacies. I’ve never seen tails wag so furiously! Now, while my dogs are clearly head over paws for these treats, I must confess that the strong smoky scent is not my favorite. It’s like someone set up a BBQ in my living room. But, hey, if it’s a hit with the pups, who am I to complain? They seem to love the aroma as much as the taste. The treats themselves are soft chews, making them perfect for dogs of all ages and sizes. My little guy with the sensitive teeth had no trouble munching on them. Plus, they’re made with real meat and are slow-roasted, which gives me peace of mind that I’m giving my dogs something healthy and delicious. Potty training has been a breeze with these high-value treats. A simple “sit” and “stay” is met with eager compliance now that they know what’s coming as a reward. It’s almost like these treats have magical obedience powers! In conclusion, Rocco & Roxie Supply Co. Jerky Dog Treats have earned a permanent spot in our pantry. Despite my ambivalence about the smoky scent, the joy and excitement they bring to my dogs make it all worthwhile. If you have picky eaters or are just looking for a high-quality treat, these are definitely worth a try. So I wasn't sure if I wanted to write a review or not. My dogs loved these treats, but they aren't especially picky, if it is a moist treat and smells great, they'll like it. They get treats similar to this all of the time for training. I originally bought these treats off Amazon (which isn't normal, I typically buy treats at the local pet store) because I was looking at GPS dog collars for this one dog thing I own who has yet to learn how to come back when called reliably. While searching I ended up looking at shock collars and while looking at those, these treats pulled up. In the past I've gone to the pet store and asked "what treats dogs like most" in an attempt to find the treat that will really sell my dog (brat) on coming back when I call him. Well they gave me no recommendation and some highly laughable advice, so while I wasn't looking for treats, these popped up and I couldn't resist buying them. My dog has been coming when called better then before, but I'm not sure it is these treats (I don't always use the same ones, gotta keep it interesting for him! If I use the same ones he gets bored). So why did I write this review? I'm a pet photographer and I was recently at a dog event. There were plenty of vendors selling treats, I was seated next to someone selling organic dog treats, and I even had some dog biscuits sitting out on my table. In my camera bag I had these tucked away in case I had to take some pictures of any rescue dogs. There was a little terrier who belonged to the organic dog treat crew who ended up in my tent and was hot and refusing to budge when her owner attempted to pull her and leave (to actually fully leave). At some point, and I don't remember why, I reached into my bag and opened the ziploc baggy I had these hidden in. The SECOND I opened that bag and the scent reached that little hot terrier she perked right up and tried to walk over to me and get some. I asked the owner if I could give her a treat and he said "sure, but she's hot so I doubt she'll take it." The little terrier sat and was wagging her tail like crazy and immediately took the treat. I gave the owner a few pieces of these treats and the terrier followed him out into the sun acting like she hadn't just spent over an hour sitting in the shade refusing to leave. As I was pressing the air out of the bag to close it and put it back in my camera bag a chow/german shepherd pulled away from his owner to come get a few pieces (he had been glued to his owner's side until that point refusing to leave at all), as well as a pit bull and a border collie. I laughed, gave the three dogs a few bites while their owners collected their dogs and put them up before I inadvertantly kidnapped more dogs. So, plenty of dogs love these treats, and that is what is needed for five stars. I wasn't going to order more, but the dogs at that event sold me on buying more. Clearly my pet photography customers will probably love them like crazy even if they aren't the absolute best my own pair have ever had (not to be mistaken with my pair NOT liking them, they definitely did like these treats, it just wasn't a strong reaction). ... show more
