Great pad to keep in my backpack i carry everyday to work that holds all the little things i might/could need. This has been great to take notes and write things down that are important so i can easily go back and find all the things i need for incidents that occur. My car was recently totaled from a deer, and needed to go through that process with the insurance company and find another car to purchase. This pad made everything much easier to keep everything in one place. I work construction for a utility company and the waterproof feature was a big plus. Not cause I’m going diving or camping in the woods - but just in case i come in from out of the rain, or even spill a drink while sitting in the truck. My only wish is the spirals were large enough to hold their own pen inside them (the simple metal pen from fisher). That would make keeping both of them together easier. That pen is also a great purchase. It always works, and i do a lot of filling out form for traffic control and police we hire, sometimes getting filled out while leaning against a vehicle. I purchased this notebook for an Ornithology class, and it was really useful. We had lab for 10 weeks, and each time we had to stand in cold, heavy rain for 3 hours watching birds and recording our observations. The notebook paper held up really well, but after about 2 hours, it did get a little soft. I used a pencil, and it smeared a little bit, but it was still readable, wet or dry. Word to the wise though: when writing with a pencil, don't bother trying to erase, because the paper ends up covered in a smeary blob of graphite. Also, the spiral ring is not large enough to stick a pen or pencil into, so you will have to carry that somewhere else on your person. Unless you have rather large pockets, the notebook rarely fits into a coat or pant pocket, so you might have to hold it as well. This became pretty tricky when trying to look through binocs and hold a field guide and write in the notebook, because I had to hold everything all at once. Overall: the notebook holds up well in heavy rain for about 2 hours at a time and dries well, and it's inexpensive. I definitely recommend buying it, or possibly one in a smaller size so it can more easily fit in a pocket. ... show more

Definitely waterproof, where you can even stick it under the sink and would still be okay, and I was surprised how much like normal paper the pages felt like. I've noticed though that it's a bit harder to erase pencil on it, but it's not something that bothers me
