Almost sent it back right away when I saw that it did not have a thigh cross bar under the seat. Those kind of aluminum chairs fall apart quickly. But it was heavier than it should be so I got out a magnet. The part of the frame that the seat is sewn onto is painted steel. The vertical uprights have steel tubing inserted inside the aluminum tubing. Very clever idea. I think it will last. All the connectors are plated steel. So it's going to have a few rust issues but the most important parts of the frame that are actually making contact with the beach sand are aluminum. I hate the super low beach chairs so I really appreciate the extra height of this one. I use a seat cushion since 2 inches of my butt hangs off the back of the seat webbing. (Gripper Non Slip 15" x 16" Venus Natural Chair Cushion, $8.97 Walmart). The seat webbing needed to be set back in the frame a little more to eliminate some of the excessive gap. As others have commented needs a pillow. The pictures are deceptive...this chair way larger than I imagined and only a few of them can fit into the back of my SUV. Easy to transport once you get the hang of the shoulder strap. Overall it was the best blend of compromises for me. There are chairs I liked far more but they were all steel. ... show more

The month chair's seat ripped apart after one year on two of the three I bought last Spring. In my opinion they are not that sturdy as they tend to roll sideways with the rounded front "legs". Four separate legs would be preferred for the cost of these chairs. I had Rio lawn chairs in the past but these were a disappointment. The tall backs of the chair was the reason I came back to replace my older ones. For the price I would invest in another style, or material.
