My swivel stand came bundled with a regular ring battery camera, and a cord. When I bought them, the bundle was a better deal than buying them individually. I love the swivel stand. No complaints. It will only move when you make it move through the app, by tapping the up/down/side arrows. It does not move on its own. You can set a "home" position for the camera to return to once you're done moving it around remotely. This base not only helps with seeing around the room better, but it also helps me shake cobwebs off the cameras Lol! Also, as I wrote in another review, I used one in a bedroom, so that I could set the "home" position to face the wall. That way, hopefully, there'd be more privacy when someone was in that room and the camera would not always be recording someone in the bedroom (unless someone hacks it. Hopefully that doesn't happen!) I liked having the camera face the wall, and only having it face the room when I turned it on to check the room, and swiveled it in that direction myself. Then when I was done, I could turn it to face the wall again, or if the home position I set was facing the wall, it'd swivel back there by itself (usually. Once or twice it did not. I'm not sure why.) This stand has a piece that sticks up into the battery slot of a battery operated Ring Camera, and that piece replaces the battery inside that camera, and powers the camera. This stand works off electricity, so the battery camera works off electricity too, when this is attached. There is no way (at the time I'm writing this) for this to use a battery. Both the stand, and the camera its attached to (even though the camera is a battery operated camera) will only work with electricity when this is attached. On the plus side, this will leave you with a spare battery to use somewhere else :)

This does everything it promises. Plus very easy to instal. I like that you can move the camera view if you need to. Good addition to your Ring security. Mine was installed inside.

Update 7/24: After not working, “calibrating”, for several days, the unit is now operational. Allows user to create and update the home position which it didn’t before; can actually pan and tilt. It’s seems to be working okay. I still suggest reading the reviews. Overall it now works as intended but I’ll be curious what happens with the next firmware update. Prior 1-star review: Should’ve read the latest reviews. This Ring device is absolutely worthless. Does not calibrate. Thought the first one was a dud so I bought a second. Both boot up, go through a rotation sequence and from there they are garbage. Cannot move in app. Cannot setup home position. Can’t state how worthless these are. Buyer beware. I’ll be back to review if something actually changes but plan to return both within 30 days. Read the previous reviews, within the last month!!!

Uno de los artículos que más me he sentido a gusto ya que me permite ver la actividad dentro de casa de mis animalitos y posibles intrusos que les gusta lo ajeno . Lo recomiendo la batería es curable y su funcionamiento en el App es bueno aunque tiene un costó que es cómodo lo hacen para guardar los videos en caso que algún día se llegara a necesitar ha y lo adapte para movimiento de rotación así que se tiene que comparar una parte adicional que funciona con electricidad, lo pensé mucho pero valió la pena hacer el cambio porque cubre una buena área. For those of you whining that it didn't come with a power cord, try reading before you buy. If you have a stickup battery camera you need the power cord but it's bundled with the pan-tilt unit at a pretty good savings. It's kind of annoying that the mount has an angle built into it. I would've preferred a right angle and set the home position pointing down. Panning left and right from a tilted angle results in a u shaped scan rather than a linear one. Still I'm pretty happy with the quality and it functionality. I'm hoping they'll eventually enable a tracking feature or a scanning mode. It has a rubberized boot covering the mechanical parts so it seems to be pretty weather resistant. This one is for the center of three on the front of my house and will now probably get one for the rear of my house as well. Enjoy!
