short and simple: I love these skates! i love them SOoooo much... that now i kinda want the OTHER colorsssss??? LoL! i havnt skated in like 15 years. i grew up in the 80's where rollerskates and inline skates were popular! had my own pair of skates and blades! eventually fell out of the hobby until 5 years ago i took my nieces and nephews out skating as a "look at the kewl uncle!" day! eventually been eyeballing skates for 5 years now and finally bit the bullet on these! first off: i'm in my late 40's getting back into skating. i'm a mens size 10.5 - some of my shoes are 10, some of my shoes are 11. its safe to say the 11 reidells fit GREAT on these flat feet of mine. right out of the box, the skates needed some minor setup: wheel lugs adjusted (too tight from factory) and the trucks just slightly loosened for my skating style/ability. skating these in the rink are AWEsoMe! the rentals usually shoot me one way or another when im on a single foot, but these were so stable! i was able to just cruise one foot thru turns and what not. the wheels btw are hybrid wheels around 85. definitely noticed its tackiness in the rink so i ordered some sonar rivas (96a?) to try out. the colors btw are gorgeous! makes me really want to accessorize my clothing! makes me also want to buy the other skates now too! they're soooo vibrant and the choice of mixing orange wheels with yellow stop and yellow laces with a blue boot is just fun! so glad i got these rather than the ole boring "mens black skates" as for cons, only one: its pretty stiff - hoping it will break-in over time. the tongue definitely dug into my lower shin a good bit during my test trial - had to loosen the top a ton to skate the rest of the session. other than that, love everything about these skates and am hoping for more adventures with them! maybe rven nab the other colors down the road? :) ... show more

5/28: Upgraded from 3-to 4 Stars! Following a disappointing Amazon Warehouse fulfilment experience (from the Riedell Storefront-read below); I contacted Riedell directly to advise how their vendor delivered sub-par skates. Riedell customer service immediately sent me a new pair, which I received in 3 days (US shipping). Perfect, brand new, Pristine skates! Perfect fit. The only challenge I had was adjusting the toe stop - but eventually was able to do so - Riedell puts them on very tightly. I will update again after I get chance to skate-test them. Sadly - I twisted my ankle the day before receiving my replacement pair - lol. 5/20: I ordered these skates from the Riedell storefront on Amazon. The skates I purchased as "NEW" - were not. (paid full price of $250. US). Upon opening the outer box/carton - inside was missing the usual "Riedell" skate box. The skates were loose in the box; wrapped in brown craft paper. The skates were not in their usual plastic bags; there was no manual or warranty card/proof of purchase included; and no skate key (these are all standard packaging by Riedell). I believe the pair I received were either customer returns, or store samples that were passed-off as "new" by Amazon (or maybe Riedell?). While they did not appear to have any major wear - there were some very minor scuffs on one toe, the wheels were not pristine, there was dirt/soot/dust (looked like some grains of sand) on the surfaces of the base and toe brake indicating shelf/display storage. They also had hair stuck to the insole of the boot - like would come off your socks if you had a pet (not unusual if these were a pro-shop sample for try on; or a customer return). I am not opposed to purchasing gently used sporting goods - as long as the actual condition is properly disclosed, the product carries the full manufacturer's warranty, and the price is reflective of the "open box" condition. I will be returning these because I refuse to pay full price for used goods. On the Plus Side (which is why I did give 3 stars)... The skates appear to be made very well, genuine leather, well padded on the inside, and already laced/ready to go! Despite Riedell being a US company and their website saying "made in the USA" - the boot portion was stamped as "made in Taiwan". I did try on the skates - and they fit my wide feet very comfortably. I suggest going up one size if you have wide feet. I did not skate "test" them as I knew I'd be returning. I cannot provide a performance review (but if you search YouTube - you will see many great reviews on their performance - both first impression & long term use). These are really well built, quality roller skates. The leather is thick, soft and the color is fantastic. Lots of padding on the tongue and boot. (see photo) Also the insole can be removed so you can add your own custom if need be. They did include a simple tool as well for adjustments. Be sure to measure your feet before you order roller skates! Normal shoe sizes don't work here. My shoe size is a women's 9-9.5 and I ordered the size 8 in Riedell Crew. Perfect fit. I am an 80's child, so we would roller skate all the time and everywhere. Don't recall my skates back then being quite as nice, and my balance now is not nearly the same. Going to take some time to get to know my new lovelies. For reference, I also own a pair of Sure Grip Boardwalk skates (about $100 less) purchased last year. They are nice, but the Riedell's are certainly a step up. I am also interested in trying Moxie Lolly at some point, but those prices are so steep! In all, if you are looking for a well built, going to last a long time pair of skates, definitely gives these a go. ... show more

These are great skates BUT not for people with narrow feet. The boot is really stiff but should loosen the more you wear it. Sadly, I returned as I have narrow feet and the fit was off.

I have been admiring these a long time- told myself I would get them for my 50th birthday as a splurge. Then- I realized, life is short and I might not see 50 (it’s still a year away!) So I bought them and am so glad I did! I love them beyond words. Not only are they super cute but they are excellent quality, very stiff, supportive boot which took a little getting used to but is exactly what I need for one foot that has a weak tendon. The wheels that came with are good indoor and outdoor- I did order a little bit softer ones for outdoor use but the ones that come with it are perfectly fine. These are now my favorite thing. If the house is on fire, I’m saving the dogs and my skates! ... show more
