5/28: Upgraded from 3-to 4 Stars! Following a disappointing Amazon Warehouse fulfilment experience (from the Riedell Storefront-read below); I contacted Riedell directly to advise how their vendor delivered sub-par skates. Riedell customer service immediately sent me a new pair, which I received in 3 days (US shipping). Perfect, brand new, Pristine skates! Perfect fit. The only challenge I had was adjusting the toe stop - but eventually was able to do so - Riedell puts them on very tightly. I will update again after I get chance to skate-test them. Sadly - I twisted my ankle the day before receiving my replacement pair - lol. 5/20: I ordered these skates from the Riedell storefront on Amazon. The skates I purchased as "NEW" - were not. (paid full price of $250. US). Upon opening the outer box/carton - inside was missing the usual "Riedell" skate box. The skates were loose in the box; wrapped in brown craft paper. The skates were not in their usual plastic bags; there was no manual or warranty card/proof of purchase included; and no skate key (these are all standard packaging by Riedell). I believe the pair I received were either customer returns, or store samples that were passed-off as "new" by Amazon (or maybe Riedell?). While they did not appear to have any major wear - there were some very minor scuffs on one toe, the wheels were not pristine, there was dirt/soot/dust (looked like some grains of sand) on the surfaces of the base and toe brake indicating shelf/display storage. They also had hair stuck to the insole of the boot - like would come off your socks if you had a pet (not unusual if these were a pro-shop sample for try on; or a customer return). I am not opposed to purchasing gently used sporting goods - as long as the actual condition is properly disclosed, the product carries the full manufacturer's warranty, and the price is reflective of the "open box" condition. I will be returning these because I refuse to pay full price for used goods. On the Plus Side (which is why I did give 3 stars)... The skates appear to be made very well, genuine leather, well padded on the inside, and already laced/ready to go! Despite Riedell being a US company and their website saying "made in the USA" - the boot portion was stamped as "made in Taiwan". I did try on the skates - and they fit my wide feet very comfortably. I suggest going up one size if you have wide feet. I did not skate "test" them as I knew I'd be returning. I cannot provide a performance review (but if you search YouTube - you will see many great reviews on their performance - both first impression & long term use). I was an ice skater for 17 years and I haven't skated for 30 years. I started to get into roller skating because I roller skated with my son at a birthday party. I had so much fun that I bought these skates so I can skate at the park or the rink if I wanted to. I remember the brand Reidell. They are the gold standard of skating boots. I love the ankle support the boot is well padded and very comfortable to skate in. I can tell in time the leather will mold to my feet. I love them so much I am going to try to get one in every color!

I have been admiring these a long time- told myself I would get them for my 50th birthday as a splurge. Then- I realized, life is short and I might not see 50 (it’s still a year away!) So I bought them and am so glad I did! I love them beyond words. Not only are they super cute but they are excellent quality, very stiff, supportive boot which took a little getting used to but is exactly what I need for one foot that has a weak tendon. The wheels that came with are good indoor and outdoor- I did order a little bit softer ones for outdoor use but the ones that come with it are perfectly fine. These are now my favorite thing. If the house is on fire, I’m saving the dogs and my skates!

Excellent quality skates and perfect fit. Rad colors! I was so excited to try them out then hurt my hip rock climbing before they were delivered to me. Long heal expected so had to return them. Gahhh I’m so sad I didn’t get to skate in them :(

The leather is buttery smooth. I'm enjoying breaking these in. I ordered for outdoor use but felt they were way to nice to wear outside once I received them lol. Customized with indoor wheels and bearings for the rink, I received so many compliments :-).

I decided to keep the yellow Crew skates I ordered previously. But wanted to see if I could use another size before I made up my mind. I may get the blue ones down the road. The Crews are perfect skates for me. They have way more support than the Moxi Lolly’s. I will use the Riedell Crews for my normal outside trail skating, and slap harder wheels on the Lolly’s and use for inside. 2 problems solved. Best decision ever! Update- March 6, 2013- I skated 10 miles yesterday!!!! I had excellent support. The bed was a bit tough on my left foot- no biggie! I’ll just experiment with foot beds for long journeys! I don’t think I could have gone so far in my Lolly’s. Also, got caught in a big downpour. I’m drying out and cleaning my bearings, to help save them from the nasty grime. I like to keep my skates in too shape- so I enjoy the maintenance! The the leather boots remained dry and easy to wipe off. I love these skates. I wish they would come in more colors. Seems like they would come with 65mm wheels and 78a hardness as opposed to the smaller wheels and 84a hybrid indoor/outdoor hardness they come with. But, easy change out.

So, I hate calling myself old or older, hence the word mature in the title! I love these skates. I grew up skating (not at an expert level). Stopped skating until a few months ago and I started off with the roller rink rentals. After a few months, I bought $75 skates (named after a city) for my girls and borrowed one pair for a day. They were awful.. no padding and I swapped them out after 20 minutes. I researched and asked around for brand names. It came down to Reidell and another, so I decided to give these a shot. I usually wear 9s in women shoes, flats and heels, but ordered a size 8 because that's the size I rented. They are definitely snug, but I don't want them to be too big because then they are awkward and feel loose like when you're wearing giant shoes and hope they don't fall off. The padding and fit are great, I was shocked at how thick the padding was when I first saw them. I can wear these for hours. Poor picture, but it's the only I have right now. Good luck!
