I'm an adult skater who's permanently stuck at freestyle 1/2 and takes lessons for fitness and fun. I bought these because my skates from my late teens/early 20s were no longer sustainable. They are great so far. Very comfy fit right away - something I don't remember from my youth skating days. My ankles/feet feel safe and secure. The back of the skate is a thicker leather material and is more rigid to provide additional ankle support. I took these out of the box at a lesson and haven't sharpened them and I only fell from toe picking. The rubies are a cute accessory and don't add extra weight. I am not a professional skater I skate for fun these skates are high quality offer excellent ankle support and super cute I’d maybe size up cuz mine are right at my toe and if you have wide feet these aren’t for you I have pretty slender feet and they are tight on me

I bought these for my teenage daughter who used to do figure skating, but now just hobby skates. I wanted something that allowed her to use her skills but didn't break the bank. Below is her opinion on the skates. I had really high hopes for these skates when I saw the brand. I've had a long history with reidell. I've used them for about six years, and I've had everything from almost the cheapest to close to the top. The ruby levels are a really nice pair that falls right in the middle. The padding on the inside of the skates isn't rough or hard or scratchy, which is a huge but really common problem. It's really hard to land a jump when the inside of the boot feels like a rock covered in sandpaper. The boots fit really well to your foot, but have a really nice stiffness to the leather. They offer really nice support for takeoff and landing, but they still flex enough to bend your ankle for glides or spins. The blades come presharpened and don't nick to easily. They're a good width that makes it easy for beginners to stand/glide and are thin enough for more advanced skaters to take angles for tricks. On the back they have even stiffer material which shockingly a lot of brands don't have. That's always really nice and supports your foot so you can skate for long periods of time with out discomfort or pain. Lots of other brands dig into your foot crush your foot or don't support the back of your ankle which not only makes your foot sore but can cause serious injury. This is a really good mix of qualities for all levels of skill. ... show more

The quality of the shoes is excellent. They are also lined with soft material on the inside. The size is adjustable, but a bit snug for wider feet, at least by half a size. The quality of the metal parts is impressive, and you can adjust them using the included rope. Overall, I really like them.

I recently gifted these figure skates to my sister, and I must say that it has exceeded my expectations. The boots offer the right amount of support and allow for freedom of movement, making them perfect for recreational skating. The plush hand-rolled collar and brushed tricot lining add to the comfort factor. The open throat design and flex notch lacing system make the skates comfortable to wear for hours, and the higher toe box design ensures that the toes remain comfortable. The sizing chart provided is accurate, and my sister found the perfect fit. The microfiber material used in the skates makes them ultra-durable, and the added reinforcement ensures that the boots and blades will last for a long time. The light microfiber Helios outsole keeps the feet dry and safe, and the padded Achilles Tendon collar adds to the support factor.
