  • Worth every penny

If you cut cast iron pipe often this is a must have. I have done tons with a sawzall and grinder before this. With the same apartments all having the same layout it takes me about 30 min solo to remove a common leaking section with a grinder. With this tool it took me 2 min. With the grinder it would spew sewer water all over, break discs, change sewer water covered grinder discs, etc. Not with this tool. It snaps and sounds like a giant cracking his knuckles. You can plan with a bucket under for drainage and it just drops instead of spraying. With the grinder I would wear a respirator otherwise I would taste metal for 24 hours. Not with this tool. This makes more straight cuts than me with a grinder. Takes very little effort ratcheting. With how much cast iron we have and it being 50+ years old in an apartment complex this tool will make my job a lot easier and cleaner. ... show more

We've had ours for 3 years now doing 1 or 2 jobs a week. It gets way dirty in the trenches and still cuts 3-6" cast and clay no problem.

  • Cuts cast like butter

We have been using a diamond wheel on an angle grinder to cut cast iron for a long time. I finally broke down and ordered this. Have used this cutter on ten different jobs now, and it makes life so much easier. Cuts are clean, and we have not had any issues whatsoever. Sometimes you can't quite fit the chain behind the pipe if it's tight to the wall, but chiseling out a bit of masonry is a small price to pay for the ease of the cut. Worth every penny! ... show more

  • clean cuts minus the spray and noise you get from a grinder or sawzill
Style: Tools
Easy cuts. I'm no pro but I cut approx 20 feet of pipe in 2 days. Starting from roof vent and working down to first floor. This cuts a pipe as fast as you can wrap the chain and rachet. If it's too hard you are doing it wrong. Simply take up the slack and re do it. It does its job quietly and clean cuts. Sawzall is loud blades wear out after a few cuts and while cutting it sends shrapnel sewer water etc all over. Grinder does the same except add on smoke and sparks which could be bad in an attic with lots of dry insulation. Took out 80 year old cast iron sewer stack. Wore gloves and a carbon mask. ... show more

Made Cast Iron Pipe cutting possible in very tight places. Expensive, but worth it. Sometimes, what works, costs.
