I was able to set them up without needing a power tool, or another hand to help hold them up for me. I can imagine if you are using them to hold a lot of weight, they might not hold long-term. For light weight things, I assume they should last forever! I bought them to display my Funko Pops and they are perfect for what I got them for. The measurements in the description are accurate, so just make sure the size works for you before you purchase - they are supposed to be small shelves.
