  • Wrote the cards, did not write the tags
For some reason this reader wrote the enclosed cards, but not the tags.. I am giving it five stars because it saved hundreds in duplication costs.

  • Nifty little tool...
I rate this handheld RFID card reader and writer as 3.5 (rounding up to 4) stars because it’s been a super helpful tool for creating quick backup access keys. The device is very lightweight, made of durable plastic, and comfortably portable, making it easy to carry or stash away. I really appreciate that the kit comes bundled with so many writeable gadgets, so I didn't have to buy extra accessories just to get started. The simple button layout works pretty seamlessly for reading and writing 125KHz frequencies fairly quickly, and the light and beep indicator gives good confirmation when a code successfully transfers. I’ve only used it a couple of times so far and, surprisingly, I’ve not run into major issue so I’ll say that this is a pretty nifty little tool that does well with quick duplicate basic access keys. ... show more

  • Works very well and is simple to use - comes with tags and cards to get you started
I’ve had a chance to mess with this little RFID handheld reader/writer, and it ended up being one of those tools that’s way more useful than it looks at first glance. It’s compact, lightweight, and easy to hold in the hand, which makes it feel more like a field tool than a piece of lab equipment. Setup is straightforward. There’s no complicated software or confusing pairing process—just power it up and start working with compatible RFID cards and key fobs. It reads quickly and reliably, and writing to supported tags is just as simple once you get into the menu system. One thing I really like is that it comes with starter accessories right in the box. Having blank writable cards and keychains included makes it immediately usable without having to track down extras. That’s a big plus when you’re just trying to get up and running and experiment a bit. The interface is simple but functional. The indicators are easy to read, the buttons are responsive, and once you’ve used it a couple times, you'll get the hang of how you have to hold it to read the card you want to clone. It feels designed for practical use rather than being overcomplicated with features you’ll never touch. Performance-wise, it does what it’s supposed to do. Cards are recognized quickly, and writing operations are consistent and repeatable. For hobby work, testing, or general RFID experimentation, it’s been solid and dependable in my experience. Overall, this is a handy little RFID tool that makes it easy to work with supported tags without needing a full desktop setup or specialized station. It’s portable, simple, and just works—which is exactly what you want from something in this category. Very cool gizmo. ... show more

  • Works perfectly. Beats paying $20 to a key kiosk.
This worked great for duplicating my apartment's entry keyfob. VERY easy to use.

  • Simple device to quickly clone RFID cards and dongles
The RFID reader/writer is a lightweight device to quickly clone existing RFID devices. The device feels like cheap plastic, but feels sturdy enough that it won't break if you drop it. It is easy to clone cards, allowing you to quickly create multiple copies from a single read. The readings are temporary and remain as long as there's power. A three or four beep sequence after reading indicates which device you can write to next. I'm not a fan of having feedback in a form of number of beeps; it can be difficult to keep track and is not for everyone. Fortunately, there are lights indicating when the read was successful and if it's ready to write as well. It’s powered by AAA batteries, so it's easy enough to swap out batteries to continue using. ... show more
