Great radios. I have found that radio companies try and pack in more and more features each year. This leads to accidentally hitting the wrong button, reduced battery life etc. I wanted a radio that turned on and worked without trying to remember which combinations of buttons you had to hit to change channels etc. these are simple but work really well. I use these radios for kayaking out baits when surf fishing. These were completely submerged on several occasions (never more than a foot or two underwater). After being submerged they did continue to work, however, the volume was muffled and hard to hear. I believe that the relatively small speaker holes tend to trap in water and do not drain well. Once the radios completely dried out (several hours later) the speaker on the radio once again worked as it should. I'm giving these radios 3 stars because while they will eventually work again after being dunked, they are essentially useless until they dry. ... show more

RT47 came today. Well built and the tx audio and rx audio is very loud and clear. The only thing is the on off knob on one seems a little stiff when turning it on hopefully it will not create an issue. Other then that it's a great buy.

Very long range coverage from house interior to another house interior in approximately a one block radius, rural area. Simple to use. Very clear transmission: better than cell phone. Where we live there are coverage issues with cell phone.

This product is well worth the price !! We have 26 acres and we can talk from one end to the other !!! Very clear, I was at the back of the property and my wife was at the front and a whole lot of woods in between and they were very clear !! Would definitely recommend !!

These work great, very loud and clear, good battery life and range. But if you plan on changing the channels beware that only the privacy codes can be changed, not the actual channels since it is hard programmed as an FRS license free radio.
