The REST cooling comforter is as advertised. It is a cool to the touch blanket. It’s very lightweight. It’s very silky. It’s very soft. Since it’s lightweight, it takes up very little room in the wash and doesn’t take a million cycles to dry either. It’s still cool after being washed too. It holds up well to pet hair. Dog hair isn’t stuck to it and I’m not sleeping with dog hair around my face 🤣 My cats make biscuits on it and it doesn’t pill or have loose threads. It is called a cooling blanket and while it’s cool and lightweight, I do continue to sleep hot and sweat. But it’s less and I still like my new blanket. If I get cold and put a blanket over this blanket, it easily slips off because this blanket is so silky. I’d buy another blanket for another bed. My only complaint is the colors; I wish there was more variety. ... show more

This blanket is incredible! It is hands down the softest, most comforting bedding I have ever had. My dog and cats love it too; they constantly want to snuggle in the bed now. We don't have air conditioning in our house; this has helped me sleep better on hot nights. Highly recommend!

I rarely give 5 stars to anything. Or write a review so close to receiving a product, but as of now, I am in love with this comforter. I usually need a blanket that's super soft to separate me from a comforter, but this one is so soft and the perfect weight that I absolutely don't need a blanket. I'm not perimenapousal, but I am going through hormonal changes and find myself sweating excessively more then I used to. I am also intolerant of too much heat and too much cold. It's unseasonably warm where I live and my bedroom is also on a second floor. So if someone has a window open or cooks, my room hold in that heat like crazy. Not to mention huge windows that face the setting sun. It can be like sleeping in an oven. This comforter gave me the first peaceful sleep I've had in a long time. Heck, I hate waking up at all, but this morning I woke up with a smile. No sweat. It gets warm when you lay still, however, that was perfect for me because when it was cold at night I just stayed still. When I got a little too warm, I flipped or kicked my legs -boom- cool again. I didn't want to leave my bed at all. It works best with an air conditioner and I have a manual fan pointed towards it for extra insurance of cool-ness. Nice color, no snags...I am waiting for spring sale to buy the sheets. As many people said, price is rather steep. However, I see it as an amazing investment because it'll keep and last longer then most other sheets. It also gets really hot where I live in the summer, so I'll use it all the time. ... show more

Amazing. This is cool to the touch, soft, cozy, lightweight, fits in my washer as a king size, dries like a normal blanket in my dryer, holds up to my cats’ nails, and covers the size of my ridiculously thick king size mattress. Most importantly it’s helped this pregnant lady with night sweats sleep again. My toddler insisted on getting one for his room lol so I got him a knockoff and it is sooo not the same thing. This comforter is amazing! So comfortable and the cooling material really does work well. Its slight weight makes it sink around you and form to your body. It’s like sleeping with a cloud over your body. High quality and looks great too. Could be a little bigger but I’m happy with this purchase.

    • Very Comfy but Temper Your Cooling Expectations

I bought this because we sleep warm, it had good reviews, and it was the Wirecutter's top pick. PROs: -It's very soft and comfortable; it feels silky smooth against your skin -It's lightweight and cool to the touch Drawbacks: -As others have mentioned, the cooling aspect only works if you use it without a top sheet. Unfortunately, using it without a top sheet would force us to wash the comforter constantly, which is something we didn't want to do, as it would likely degrade the quality. -Even when using it without a top sheet, it warms up quickly. There's no sustainable cooling effect unless you move around a lot. -While it's not a bad-looking comforter, it's not the best-looking, which forced us to have to put something better-looking over it during the day, which was one more thing we had to take off the bed at night. Putting it inside a duvet cover wasn't an option as it would eliminate the cooling effect. Bottom line: This is a quality comforter if you're looking for something lightweight and soft and don't mind washing it often, and if you sleep hot, it's certainly a better option than sleeping with a down or down-alternative comforter. ... show more

    • Detergent Rant Sorry 🤷♀️

I received mine last night. Surprised that the washing instructions that came with it were different then what were stated on Rests website. Not as simple as wash and dry as they state . You need to use a gentle PH neutral detergent and dry on no heat or very low heat. I as a gen X'r did not have a free+ clear or Earth Breeze or Seventh Generation....on hand lol. However, spending this amount $ and then ruining it because you didn't bother to follow a simple instruction seems stupid. So at 8:30 @ night sent my husband out to buy detergent. Then after washing proceeded to dry on Air Dry(no heat) because at this point why not . It was late and I had no chance of using it anyway that night. Hope it's worth it. The blanket is soft and is has a cotton feel, not too silky. Very light and cool to the touch. About a few inches thick. True color on page. Seems well made. Will update after after I get a chance to use it. Just wanted to let people know about the detergent so they have it on hand so they can use it right away. ***Do your own homework on detergent. They just said gentle ph neutral and sovI googled that + what detergent to use with Rest Comforter. ... show more
