I was not expecting to love this camera. Having the ability to pan while being solar worried me that power consumption would be an issue. I tested the camera by getting it to a full charge and then removing the solar panel entirely. With active storage to a 128 GB micro sd card, it was able to have perform motion capture with audio to disk for 2.5 days (having the camera facing our back door and taking the dog to and from the back yard throughout the day). The quality of audio and video is awesome, and the infrared LEDs are brighter than cameras I've had in the past. I would expect clarity up to 30 feet in the dark, but not more than that (easily supplemented by an infrared spotlight to span a long driveway in my case). Setup was super easy using your cellphone with a QR code scan by your phone, and then using the camera scanning a similar QR code that pops up on your phone. The whole activation took about 2 minutes. There is a second Type-C USB connector for charging in-house, or supplementing if you have another solar panel ramped down to 5V. I was also pleasantly surprised to see how well the housing held up under heavy rain. In lieu of putting it under an eave, I place it between two of the joists of our pergola. Lastly, and best of all, I went into my existing Reolink NVR PoE setup and clicked rescan after making sure the new solar camera was on the same network, and it showed right up. Just be aware, you will not get rolling video to disk the way you do with the PoE, but it is arguably better. Not only does the motion capture work well, but the snippet are somehow labeled with a paw when animals are detected. A raccoon showed up on our porch, and a little paw icon was stamped on the video snippet and in the video samples that show up in the playback tool, which is also available through the NVR interface. If you have a PoE solution watching the perimeter of your home, parking one of these things high in a tree as a failsafe would be a great idea for additional peace-of-mind. Will be buying a few more in the coming months. See the attached screenshot from the phone interface (black and white because infrared was active). Liked this because we didn't need a subscription. Mounted this on our retirement home. We have constant WiFi, which is helpful. Camera works as it should. Pans, zooms and records as wanted. Be sure to purchase the recommended data card. That was REALLY helpful for storage. Set up was...... OK..... Follow the instructions and be CALM. Maybe have someone there to "help". Mounting is key, of course, for max sunlight amd viewing. Plan AHEAD! Before mounting, be sure to sync your camera with your phone! Just saying. The sensitivity settings are"fun". Great camera. Professional looking. Clear video and zoom in options. Pan feature is fantastic. Setup was easy. App is fairly simple. NOT a fan of the delay from sensor to video start! I feel the delay is enough that faces/objects could be missed.

Have bought this brand before. So, bought a second time and one camera did not function correctly. So, not wanting to take a chance returned the other camera. Had a issue with one camera. Which we later determined, it was a assembly concern. So ,this time bought same brand, but a different model &style. Very happy with this one. Working great even distanced over 100yards away.     • Mediocre motion detector
I live in a quiet area, without a lot of traffic, so this camera is OK for what I need. I bought three Reolink Argus PT with solar panel on Amazon Prime Day. It is an average quality camera and I hope it will last for a year or two in Arizona climate. Cons: ------ - Lazy motion detector is triggered by motion in the center of the screen, then it takes at least one second for the recording to start, so is not much of the subject recorded you see walking toward the camera. Camera has to be mounted not more than 10 feet high, otherwise the detection range becomes very small. If a subject moves fast or runs towards the camera almost nothing is recorded. - If cars are moving too fast across the field of view, recording does not show what triggered the motion. - The Pan and Tilt movements are not smooth, you can see around but it is almost impossible to set an exact field of view, so you are better off to manually adjust the camera. - Painted Areas in the ‘Detection Zones” are not working. If the detection zone ‘OTHERS” is fully painted no Person or Vehicle will be detected, so camera will not record anything. - Object Size is unreliable - Siren sound is very weak Being a battery operated camera, Recording is limited to 8-15-30sec after motion was detected, or as long there is continuous motion. After recording stops, if more motion is detected, since there is a few seconds gap to detect the new motion, there will be no recording if meanwhile the subject exists the field of view. - Battery is not replaceable, so this is a disposable camera. Pros: ------ - Good battery charge with solar panel, here in AZ - Camera control can be shared with others - All camera features are accessible without iCloud subscription, which is a plus - Decent image resolution, recording can be viewed in slow motion - Intuitive reolink app on IOS devices - 128GB Storage card content can be deleted anytime by reformatting the card ... show more

I've purchased Reolink camera for some time and have enjoyed the performance and quality. Recently, started purchasing PTZ capable cameras and was surprised to see that they are now supporting both 2.4 and 5Ghz connections.. major difference... the video qualities are also enhanced... installing the camera itself is 3 screws just make sure the solar panel gets a lot of sun time.... ... show more
