  • Great game! Became my wife's favorite game of all time!
This is a fun logic puzzle! You start with some clues and try to figure out where planet X is located. This is my 1st board game that uses an app. I was not sure if it would "bother" me or not as there is some polarization in the community about apps in board games. It didn't bother me at all! I actually liked it. It made the game feel modern and possible. The app handles the clue giving so there is no "game master." If you like deduction or puzzles this is a great game. There are also 4 different skill caps: Beginner/kids, normal, expert, genius. If you are new or a kid you get 12 clues, normal 8, expert 4, and genius zero clues to start. This helps a lot when teaching new ppl. You can still play your best and it helps even out the game. 10/10 ... show more

  • Great strategy/deductive thinking board game!
This game would definitely qualify as a "thinker" rather than a party game. If you enjoy following a process of elimination along with clue gathering, this board game is for you!

  • Great space-themed Clue-inspired game
Game was purchased as a gift, arrived in excellent condition. After participating in a three-player game I can say that the game is fairly easy to learn, has replayability, and is fun if you enjoy games like Clue. I anticipate that with additional playthroughs the gameplay will get faster, but expect the game to go a little slow if there is anyone learning as they play. Between the required app allowing variability each playthrough, and there being an advanced play mode as well, I expect this game to be featured in many future game nights of three or four players. Only downside to this game worth noting is that there must be a player who has the game app downloaded since the app is essential for gameplay. Highly recommend for small-group board game nights, especially if anyone is a fan of space-themed games or space in general. ... show more

  • Great deduction game
This is a great deduction and strategy game, it also has a lot of replayability since you can make it harder or easier depending on how long you want the game to last. You can have a 20 minutes match in the easy mode or a 1hr game in harder configuration. It works with an app that you need to download but it’s also very well design and works perfectly. It’s for 4 players but it works very well with only 2, which we love since sometimes it’s just me and my partner. The main goal is to find Planet X, but to do that you need to figure out where are the other objects such as gas clouds, asteroids, comets, etc. and in each game there are different rules that apply of where they might be position in the map. This game is not very interactive with other players, is more of you trying to figure out as fast as you can, but you do feel the pressure every time someone takes a turn and you don’t know if they are ahead of you or if they figure out something important. At the end they might be more than one player that find where Planet X is on the same turn, and there are point that add up at the end if you where first or manage to find more of the other objects in the map. I fully recommend it, it was a great addition to my collection and it hits the table more often than not. ... show more

  • Very cool game!
One of my favorite games that I picked up last year. If you like games like Cryptid or deductive reasoning games, this is absolutely a must buy. It’s app-driven which makes this infinitely replayable and it enables an AI opponent which is very challenging but fair. It plays and acts just like a human player would and like a human you can deduce that it’s getting close to finding Planet X by the thing it’s doing. In “The Search for Planet X” each player takes on the role of a scientist searching for Planet X. Everyone has a player screen to hide their information. They all have a sheet of paper that comes with the game. Everyone sits on a different side of the board which represents seasons. Depending on which season you are sitting will depend on what starting information, if any, the app gives you. Everyone will start with a few clues and they’ll all have different information from the other players. You then take certain actions on your turn to find different objects in the night sky, comets, gas clouds, asteroids, etc. You will do research via the app on the relationship of certain objects to eachother and every game these are varied and fresh. There are all summits or conferences that will give everyone the same clue at the same time. You need to pay attention and take notes of what the other players are doing on each turn also as this will give you some information as to what they know. Overall this game is very enjoyable and never plays out the same way twice. It’s also easily accessible via Zoom or other comparable video chat program. I highly recommend to fans of Cryptid or deduction style games. ... show more

  • Clue with more variables and strategy
The core mechanic is that this is Clue on steroids. You are tasked with finding one item/planet.(similar to the criminal in Clue) Do this by making guesses and narrowing it down before the others do. What makes this better is the complexity and risk-taking element as poor decisions lead to penalties, and lucky guesses can put you ahead of the others, making it a good strategy game and NOT obvious to others who is exactly ahead at any moment. - The app is genius as it simplifies the game and handles the gritty mechanics of drawing and randomization instantly instead of slowing the game down. Setup is literally 1 minute for the board, player markers, and sheet of paper, as it is all on the app. ... show more

  • Calling all Star Wars and strategy game lovers!
We got introduced to this game at a boardgame cafe in Branson, MO. Everything from planet and characters are named from the movies. Since we can't always remember the names of places or characters, we've made up our own. It took quite some time to learn the game and some strategy, but now we know how to play and have developed some strategy and our favorite playing pieces and methods of playing. I would recommend making boxes or having bags or something to separate the pieces of the playing board for a much easier and quicker set up. The putting away takes a few extra minutes, but worth it for a faster set up. I made small compartment boxes out of old jewelry boxes. ... show more
