Our shop is known for being friendly to the environment and we try to avoid plastic bags. These grocery sacks fit the bill. Our customers really like the traditional paper bags. They especially like it that these are heavy weight paper with a secure and roomy base. We sell lots of fragile gift and decor items so it's important that we provide a bag that will keep the items from breaking. The customers do not like the reusable shopping bags even though we sell them for only $2.00. They keep forgetting to bring their reusable bags to our store! We're just going to offer these paper bags as a convenient alternative to reusable shopping bags. These bags do cost more. That's a fact. There are other sellers that have bulk quantities of 500 for a cheaper price. You'll end up doubling the bags since those bags are lightweight and are a bit flimsy. ... show more

    • These seem pretty good so far - same paper thickness as the better store bags
While figuring out the "basis weight" thing, I looked at all the good bags I've saved from stores that use good bags, like Whole Foods, PCC, and Trader Joe's. Thought they would all have a basis weight number printed right on the bag somewhere. But I only found one that did, a PCC bag, and it said 70#. The paper in all those store bags measures about .006" thick with a micrometer. So now I'm using these Reli bags for holding my recycling and my regular garbage. The Reli bag paper also measures about .006" in thickness with a micrometer. They do feel and work about the same as the good store bags. The only difference is the store bags usually have handles and the Reli bags don't. But that's fine because I am mostly using them at home, not toting them around shopping. You could though, if you don't have to walk very far with them. These bags are stiff enough to stand up alone and hold their rectangular shape. You can even line them with a plastic bag if you want to throw wet sloppy stuff into them. "Tall Kitchen 13 gallon" bags work perfect for that. So I like them so far. Have only used about 10 of them at this point though. By the way, the 17" height is exactly the same height as the taller store bags like you get at Whole Foods. That's a little taller than the more common paper bags which are only 14" tall. The extra 3" is really good for most uses. Edit May 27, 2021: I've gone through my first box of 125 of these bags now and I still feel the same as I wrote before - good. There were only 2 bags in the whole box that were stuck together, so those 2 were wrecked taking them apart. Anyway, still using them the same way and like them a lot. The Reli grocery bags will be good for what I needed them for. I line the bottom of my 42 gallon garbage bags for extra protection for anything that might break through. I had been getting grocery bags through curbside pickups and they were very heavy. The Reli bags aren't extra heavy duty but they will work. ... show more

    • 70lb weight makes a huge difference
This was a great garbage bag. 70lb weight made the difference, especially when there was some wetness in the garbage. I went to order them again, and they are unavailable; no indication if they will come back.

    • Great bags for every need
We buy these bags to line our kitchen recycle bin. This makes it easy to carry out to the bin with a lot less trips. It is paper and not plastic. Checks all of the boxes. We also use them to take canned foods to the Church for those in need.

    • Very Nice and Wonderful Size Sacks 12 x 7 x 17
The Sacks feel nice and sturdy and love the size, 12 x 7 x17. BUT, the company needs to take greater care in counting the 125 sacks that are to be in the box ordered. I and my husband both counted the sacks two times each and each time came up with 1 short.
