Bought for new city ordinance requiring organic materials trash recycling and only in brown paper bags. Frozen trash--not fresh and wet--put into bags. When tried to fold over top of bag, the top cracked/tore a bit. Held from bottom when carried to trash can. Seem to be adequate for the job.

Our shop is known for being friendly to the environment and we try to avoid plastic bags. These grocery sacks fit the bill. Our customers really like the traditional paper bags. They especially like it that these are heavy weight paper with a secure and roomy base. We sell lots of fragile gift and decor items so it's important that we provide a bag that will keep the items from breaking. The customers do not like the reusable shopping bags even though we sell them for only $2.00. They keep forgetting to bring their reusable bags to our store! We're just going to offer these paper bags as a convenient alternative to reusable shopping bags. These bags do cost more. That's a fact. There are other sellers that have bulk quantities of 500 for a cheaper price. You'll end up doubling the bags since those bags are lightweight and are a bit flimsy.

I got these for recycling mostly. I have to wrap both arms around and under a bag to lift it with 5 pounds of cardboard and paper in it. Yesterday, I lost a load on the steps because the bag tore on both sides. I am not overloading or jerking on the bags. They are just weak. Sorry to complain. It is not what I usually do. I will not order these again.

We use them for our under the counter recycle bin. No plastic! Just hold the bottom in case someone threw out something wet.
