    • There is no break in required. Care instructions from experience.
There is no break in required on these boots. That is if you buy the correct size. The environments that I worked in caused the leather uppers to degrade before the sole wore out. I wear an 11.5 D and just bought a new pair. The support this boot gives is phenomenal. I am 81 and even my house shoes hurt my feet. These boots do not. Keep the boots clean of mud, dirt and grease. For working in dry environments oil generously with Neat's Foot Oil. Don't wear gloves, good for your skin. Well it's from neat cattle. For wet environments, hot, cold and/oily., oil generously and often with Neat's Foot Oil, let the oil dry,then treat with Mink Oil. Working the Mink oil into the seams and sole welt. Use a good quality Neat's Foot Oil, Red Wing oil, Fiebigs, etc. A good source for the Neat's Foot Oil is saddle, tack or farm and ranch supply stores. Use it generously. Oh, ok, Neat cattle are those that have cloven hooves, that is split feet, like cattle, goats, pigs, etc. For my house boots, I just lightly coat with Neat's Foot Oil. The oil will darken the leather a bit. These leather in these boots, as furnished from the factory is oily and boot or shoe polish just doesn't stick. ... show more
