I finally broke down and bought this for my oily face. I went through 5 other "no-shine" moisturizers trying to find one that would work on my oily face. This one works the best. It does keep my oil at bay for at most 5 hours which is pretty good for my skin. The only thing I don't really care for is that it contains this "micropearl" ingredient which is basically like a powder mixed in with the moisturizer. That being said, it does help to minimize the oil. I guess that's the new trend for no-shine moisturizers. Why can't they make an anti-shine moisturizer w/out some kind of powder anymore? It honestly does control the oil, I'm just used to the old stuff I used to use (now discontinued). Also, the opening in the cap where the product comes out of has a tendency to form a ring of dried product which I'm not happy about since this stuff is on the pricey side. UPDATE: After using this for a month I decided it wasn't all that great. It caused me to break out a bit and it also irritated my eyes if it somehow got in there (don't ask.) Maybe that's due to the mattifying ingredients? It does really do what it says by making it seem that you're not oily. I really want something that will control the oil and not just use tricks to make it look like I'm not oily.

This stuff isn't cheap, but I took a chance and ordered it based on reviews. Let me tell you... it WORKS. It just looks like a smooth cream and goes on easily (it doesn't take much), and the "matte" effect isn't apparent immediately. But within half an hour, the shine was virtually gone. I've had that annoying shine all my life, and it makes everything more pronounced... wrinkles, sagging skin, etc. But I've been using Recipe for Men for a week, and there's no question that I will keep using it and buying more when this runs out. I can't say that my skin is any tighter, but the shadowing and shine are gone, so I know it's making a huge difference in my appearance... smoother, brighter, and younger.

I’ve been using this product for over 10 years. It doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin. Neither does it cause breakouts like other products I’ve used in the past. It has a nice consistency that goes on smoothly and is quickly absorbed by the skin. It doesn’t have an unnecessary strong scent. Keeps my combination skin matte throughout most of the day. Great after a workout shower.

By far the best anti-shine moisturizer I've ever used. I've tried at least 5 other brands, and this does the best at what it is designed for - preventing your forehead/face from getting glossy. Worth every penny. I've always had pretty bad skin in terms of acne/razor bumps. Using this lotion in concoction with Ursa Major 4-in-1 Essential Face Tonic - Natural Leave-On Liquid Cure-All to Cleanse, Brighten, Soothe and Hydrate with Aloe, Bamboo & Green Tea (8 oz) has been a miracle combination for me. My skin is always clear now, and I hardly ever get razor bumps.

Absolutely ridiculous price for a small tube of face lotion, which is why I took off a star. This stuff works great though and leaves my face feeling moisturized without any of the shine. Until there is more competition in this category, I’ll continue to get robbed over this stuff. For reference, at the time of writing this review (3/6/2018), the price is $37.

Good facial lotion with nice scent. I can tell it lasts all day because it burns my eyes when I'm sweating during workouts at the end of the day. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is the burning in my eyes. However, I apply it around my eyes, so that's partially my fault.

Has a scent to it that lingers even after a few hours. Not a fan of the scent as it smells floral. The product does work at moisturizing and soaking up septum as advertised though. It's nice that it doesn't leave your face shiny.

This stuff is awesome - I have had a 13 year broadway career and I am no stranger to needing moisturizer or products to keep my skin clear and looking good. I found I only needed a small amount of this stuff - through fall, winter and spring (which includes the very dry steam heat of NYC) and 1 tube lasted THAT long - I'm on the second now - and I never have a shiny nose or forehead - it's awesome and is the very best moisturizer, and value!
