Description

Our powder brush has a plush large head for sheer application and smooth, high definition results. Samantha and Nicola Chapman grew up surrounded by makeup. Their aunt was a top makeup artist in London, working with clients like David Bowie and Princess Diana. Their mum was makeup-involved too, always trying out the latest trends and being creative with her looks. As young girls, they experimented on one another, and of course Nic was the test subject, since Sam was the older sister. When it came time to choose their career path, it was clear that makeup artistry was the way to go. They were talented, creative, and keen to follow in the footsteps of their successful aunt. But, most importantly — they were passionate about beauty. In 2011, the Real Techniques brush collection was launched. Unbelievable brush quality was paired with professional, interesting, fun education from Sam and Nic. The launch day was memorable, as women from around the world started pouring to the website to learn more about this new brand. Fairly quickly, a global community of women who loved makeup began to form. Not only do they have a strong connection to Sam & Nic, but they also connect with one another — piping in on social media to answer questions and give input. Today, the brand has taken off in the US, UK, and around the world. Sam and Nic continue to grow as top makeup artists, writing columns for national magazines and newspapers, appearing on major network television as beauty experts, and editing their own digital magazine. I wanted to use this brush for at least a month before reviewing it, and I’m so glad I waited because I can confidently say this Real Techniques Brightening Concealer Brush is amazing. The quality is exactly what I expect from Real Techniques high-end feel at an affordable price. I haven’t noticed a single hair shedding, and the density and shape are perfect for blending out under-eye concealer. I normally prefer brushes over sponges, but finding one that works well for the under-eye area can be tricky. This one blends beautifully and gives my concealer really nice coverage without streaks or patchiness. The size is spot-on for under-eye work too. For only $4.50, the value for money is honestly wild. I only tossed it into my cart to hit the free same day shipping minimum, and now I’m so happy I did. I love my little RT Kitten Paw Brush! It is so soft and works well for blending concealer under my eyes. It's a very unique brush. I have already ordered another one. ***UPDATE*** I now have about four of these brushes. They work wonderfully for applying concealer and/or sunscreen under and over your eyes. They are a really good price, but if they were just a tiny bit cheaper, I'd probably have at least ten of them. Get yourself at least one! ... show more

This is perfect to pat in concealer, especially when spot concealing (I don't use foundation, just Dr+Jart and concealer). Just "tap tap tap" blends it in. And it's pretty good at under the eye and eyelid. I put a dot of concealer at the upper and lower inside of my eyes with a cheap e.l.f. brush and then use this to blend; again, "tap, tap, tap," less is more. I just wish it was a little smaller--or had a smaller version for the eye area--it's too large for my purposes, since I'm really just color correcting and spot concealing. Still, its closest competitor is a blending sponge--which is likewise too large--so it is the best I've found. Especially at this price. ... show more

The shape of the bristles of this brush is a nice way to apply concealer. The beveled shape of the bristles works well for the undereye area. As a pro makeup artist, I wish the bristles were a bit softer. Especially for use under the eyes. you can use this brush to blend for detail work on other areas of the face, anywhere the beveled edge helps your application/blending. The shape of the bristles gets five stars, the bristles softness gets three. These are synthetic bristles so they deposit product nicely, blend well, & clean up easily. I have not owned it long enough to know if there will be any issues with shedding; right now it's holding up well. To clean it I would put brush cleaner on a paper towel and wipe the bristles back-and-forth rather than dipping the brush into a brush cleaner solution, to prevent brush cleaner going up into the ferule. In the ferule (that's the metal piece that crimps around the actual brush bristles, is the glue to hold the bristles in place: it's best to avoid getting any brush cleaner/soap/water/any cleaning solvent up into this area to maintain your brushes for a good,long time. Since this is a beveled concealer brush, there are a number of bristles close to the ferule: it makes more sense to put your brush cleaner on a paper towel to clean it, rather then dipping it. I put some photos so you may see the shape of the bristles as well as put the brush head next to a penny so you get an idea of the size of the brush. Pros: The shape of this brush is really nice, which makes it easy to hold and maneuver. The blend is really nice and smooth in most areas, and I like how it applies product without too much effort. Cons: I feel like this brush needs to be a little bit more dense, and a little bit softer too. When I blend with it, it sometimes leaves visible brushstrokes on my face, especially under the eyes and around the nose where the skin is more delicate. It doesn’t shed much, which is good, but the bristles feel a bit too firm for a concealer brush. Overall, it’s decent for the price and gets the job done for quick, everyday use. However, if you’re looking for a more professional, seamless finish, you might want something with denser and softer bristles. I’ll probably keep using it until I find a better option, but it’s not my favorite. ... show more
