Description

I’ve heard the whispers on campus of what a player Teddy McCallister is. Most girls on campus are vying to be the one, but guys like him don’t settle down. When he overhears that my tuition has been pulled and I’m going to basically be a college reject he makes me an offer I can’t refuse. Be his fake girlfriend until graduation so he can get his inheritance. It seems simple enough. I need the money and he needs someone to make him look committed. If one thing is certain, it’s that I won’t be falling for him. But no one warned me about what happens when my fake boyfriend starts to fall for me. Read more

  • 5 Slow-burn, let’s-watch-90210-and-eat-cookies, swoony stars
I love me a reformed manhooooar. The kind that meets the h and realizes “Oh man. She might be the one.” The kind that’s totally into the h before she is- and Teddy’s ALL. OF. THIS. and more 🥰🥺. Teddy plays shortstop on the university’s baseball team. He’s grown up in a very abusive household🥺. His father started putting his hands on him when he was young, and he continues to manipulate and push him around. As he was growing up and getting bigger, his dad eventually stopped physically abusing him as much because Teddy could finally fight back. When his dad comes to see him and tells him that he will lose his money/inheritance if he continues to sleep around, Teddy quickly tells him that he has a girlfriend and he’s not sleeping around anymore. His dad tells him to bring his girlfriend to Saturday dinner and Teddy can only agree. Now Teddy needs to find a girlfriend ASAP 😅😬👀. Vanessa’s struggling financially. She relies on a scholarship in order to continue attending the same university as Teddy. She’s not able to enter her dorm, she goes to the missions office and finds out her scholarship was discontinued. Of course, a letter was mailed out to her house, and Vanessa quickly figures out that her B of a sister 🤬 kept the letter from her so that she could be embarrassed going back. Her sister has taunted and done some unforgivable things to her, things that still haunt her today and prevent her from trusting guys easily😏. Enter Teddy. Teddy needs her to pretend to be his girlfriend and he’ll pay her tuition so that she can graduate this year since they’re both seniors. She accepts. Let the fake relationship begin lol 😈. Gahhhhh! Look. This is slow burn. Their first real kiss is at 32%, and the first full smexxy time at 78%, but. My gosh. I didn’t even mind it 😅. Their “pretend-we’re-having-smexx” scene was 🔥🔥🔥. They took dry h#mp!ng to ANOTHER level 🥵. But here’s the thing. The EMOTIONAL connection was NEXT level. Yeah, yeah, he asks her lots of questions because they have to be pretending to be together, I get that, but their questions allow them to get closer, to see each other deeper than skin level, to connect emotionally like they’ve never connected before, and that’s what I loved the most about it all. They reveal things to each other that other people don’t know, again solidifying their connection and also increasing the tension between them 😉. He becomes jp and I was here for it 👀😅. Once they finally FINALLY cross the line, it was beautiful, visceral, passionate, and raw as f 🥵. He’s been waiting and waiting and WAITING… and he’s gonna worship every-hickey-ridden inch and more… and he’s gonna make sure she loves it all 💦🔥. Gahhhh!!! Side note- I LOOOOOVED that Vanessa was a “normal” girl. This girl is CURVY with cellulite and stretch marks. And he CRAVES IT ALL 🥵💦😅. Gahhhhh!! He’s just so swooooony 🥺. When he lovingly kissed her Ohhhh! And he HAS to HAS TO open the door for her each time she gets in a car. And their banter is on. point 👌🏻. I giggled so many times 😂. Plus. Once Teddy finds out what her ex did to her, he takes care of it 😈💅 along with his friends, which means I need to read their books too LOL👀. To top it all off, they bond over their favorite cookies, snickerdoodle, because he stress-baked AND his new favorite show, 90210. GAHHHH 🥺❤️❤️❤️. I. LOOOOOVED. IT!! ⚠️safety squad⚠️ ... show more

  • Super Cute!
I really enjoyed this story! It was a different start to their fake relationship that others I've read. I liked that it showed different parts of their lives. I liked how he gave it all up(mostly) for the girl he wanted to be with.

  • Great read!
I loved Teddy and Vanessa’s story. These two run into each other by chance and strike an arrangement together. Through ups down and working out very real feelings these two catch your heart and keep you flipping the pages. I really enjoyed this book!

  • Teddy and Van were just so right
I thought I loved Cole when I started this series until Teddy made his appearance. He just made me chuckle and I knew his book would be all that. It totally was all that I had hoped for. Clearly there was more to Teddy than the womanizing, life of the party and boisterous persona. His backstory made me love him even more because he still retained love, humor and affection despite his overlord father. I would have loved to have a little bit of interaction with Vanessa’s family, friends or just anyone other than the roommate she didn’t talk to much. It’s as though she had no friends, not even at the burger joint. I did admire how hard Vanessa tried to stick to her agreement with Teddy. The trip to Greece was at least 60% in so this couple had a great foundation before things changed. I hope in the future there are more options for women like Teddy’s mom so they can find safety and happiness. This part was deeply personal and it still an issue in society. Still, I hope Teddy, Macen, Cole and Jude maintain their friendship way past college. This series has been really good for my bookclub! ... show more

  • When You Play to Win, You Risk Losing It All
When you play to win, you risk losing it all. Teddy McCallister is one of the biggest campus players, and not just on the baseball field. He’s the life of the party, alway light-hearted and would do anything for his friends. But the bright surface hides secrets from everyone. And, backed into a corner, Teddy runs into Vanessa, who’s just had the rug pulled out from under her. Right time, right place, and he realizes how they can solve each other’s problems. He pays off her last semester’s tuition, and Vanessa agrees to be his fake girlfriend until graduation. But it doesn’t take long at all for Teddy to realize Vanessa’s exactly what he’s needed in his life. Vanessa Hughes has been struggling to make ends meet just to get through college. But when her scholarship is pulled, there’s no way she can make that up on her own. Which is why she caves and agrees to Teddy’s unorthodox proposal. But Vanessa has a secret or two of her own, and they make her wary of blurring the lines between their arrangement and their feelings. But when one of them is all-in and the other has one foot out the door, the breaking point is inevitable. I loved this book. When I want a fake relationship romance, this is EXACTLY what I want: for boy to meet girl, for boy and girl to come to an arrangement, for boy to catch feelings, and for their relationship to turn real while girl still feels they’re within the safe boundaries of what they’ve agreed to. The chemistry is potent, Teddy is sweet as pie, romantic, and goes above and beyond for Vanessa even before their relationship evolves. Vanessa is down-to-earth, wary of catching feelings, and the epitome of supportive. They’re each exactly what the other needs, and watching them come around to what’s clear to the reader from the start is so gratifying and wonderful to read. It’s so easy to get absorbed, and the end is satisfying while leaving you wanting more in the best way. Fans of Micalea will love seeing the previous couples in the series—including Mascen, who’s second generation of Willow Creek—lovers of NA, sports, or fake relationship romance will savor this, and this is perfect for fans of JLA’s Wait For You series, or Sara Ney’s How to Date a Douchebag/Jock Row world, or Elle Kennedy’s Off Campus/Briar U world. Looking forward to continuing the series! ... show more
