  • Beautiful finish
Size: 1 Gallon (Pack of 1)
My kitchen is still under construction but the counters are done. I bought unfinished acacia wood butcher block counter tops and used the Real Milk Paint Half Dark Tung Oil. I read a lot of reviews, people that have used it and made follow up reviews. Ultimately decided to use this product. I realize I was supposed to be in a well ventilated area but the weather was not allowing so we set up in the basement. The orange oil is strong but is not impossible. I used a quality stain brush to apply a generous coat to top and sides then waited 20 minutes then used an old t-shirt to remove excess, let it sit for an hour (minimum) between coats. Repeated process 5x then let cure for a week before installation. I have kept an oiled rag and wipe it over the counter in the event of a scratch. I could not love the finish more. ... show more

  • Cabinet finish
Size: 1 Gallon (Pack of 1)
Used this to finish my black walnut island. Looks great and gives a nice durable finish. I actually loved the smell. After curing I haven’t noticed anything. Love that it’s a all natural finish

  • Oak counter tops are popping now
Size: 1 Gallon (Pack of 1)
I used this to finish my butcher block countertops in my new kitchen. Sanded to 320 grit, cleaned with tac cloth and denatured alcohol before applying. Applied with an old clean tshirt as directed, waiting 24 hours between coats for a total of 5 coats. At the end, I buffed with 3M fine scouring pads and cleaned again with alcohol. It takes a few weeks to fully cure. PROS: the grains in my white oak counters absolute POP, it's really a gorgeous look. And it really does afford a degree of water protection for the wood, water beads up on the surface rather than soaking in to the grain. The application was straitforward. CONS: it's just an oil finish, not polyurethane so the protection is limited. If you get a drop of mustard from your sandwich on there and you let it dry, it's probably going to leave a stain. So timely cleaning is important. The application process is a little messy, and there's a fair amount of waiting between coats and for the final cure, but nothing too crazy. I didn't think the citrus odor was too bad, just open a window. ... show more

  • Met My Expectations!
Size: 1 Gallon (Pack of 1)
The media could not be loaded. I looked through a lot of reviews before purchasing. I'm glad we went with this over other sealers. It is completely natural and can be used inside...in 3 to 4 hours the fumes go away and it doesn smell as strong. It is currently in the drying/curing process, so I can't speak yet to how it is holding up....but the color is beautiful. It's important to note that if you are using it near your sink, you need to keep water OFF your counters until the curing time is completed (up to 30 days). The time is super inconvenient...but it will be worth it since they are low maintenance once it is completed. We've used mineral oil in the past and you always have a layer of oil on the counter that doesn't dry....and you have to re-apply often---not with this! ... show more

  • Awesome product!
Size: 1 Gallon (Pack of 1)
This stuff was so easy to work with! And the end result is beautiful. I posted a before and after pic to show the shade I was able to get our birch wood butcher block to. I like the natural wood look instead of making my counters shiny, so I went with this product, it also seems like it will be less maintenance. The smell is strong, but a nice pleasant orange scent. It takes a while to fade, but it does eventually fade away. The company was also very helpful with tips and answering any questions I had. ... show more

  • Works well on pine
Size: 1 Gallon (Pack of 1)
My wife wanted a pinterest style door for our small pantry so I built one from dimensional pine. I used this because it seemed to work well with pine, which is difficult, and also because we have a small child and I'm very conscious about solvent and fumes. I'm happy with the end result, and the ease of use. I applied multiple coats until I achieved the color we wanted. It's quite expensive, but it wasn't much more than making it myself, and I used a bit less than I thought I would. I let the door dry for nearly a month before putting it into service. The finish has held up well and I plan to buff it out a bit more when I have the time. Be sure to handle the old rags properly as spontaneous combustion is a concern with drying oils. ... show more

  • Lots of compliments on my fence
Size: 1 Gallon (Pack of 1)
I bought about 6 of these to do two coats on my fence. Strongly recommend the pre-mixed version like this (half and half) if you have a large project. My husband and I at first attempted to mix ourselves but we apparently have different understandings of what half and half means (mine being the correct one of course!) The dark Tung oil gives a beautiful deep reddish brown. Several neighbors have commented on how great our fence looks now that we stained it. ... show more
