The shoes were purchased for my adult son with Autism. He needs the support around his ankle for special olympics basketball, but doesn't like his ankle fully covered. The sides come up nice for the ankle support, but the back corners are open so your ankle doesn't feel trapped. For him it is a win because it matched his special olympics uniform perfect for color, and gave his ankle the support he needed. He is not a fan of socks or shoes coming up on his ankle, so it was something we had to look at when purchasing him a high top style shoe.

My son really loves these, I appreciate the ankle support. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is that he didn't like the amount of grip it had wish it had a little bit more slid a little bit on the basketball court.

My son likes them. I don’t see enough protection in the ankle. Wearing them to go out, it’s ok. But to play basketball and have your ankle protected is not good.
