These readers are not only cool looking but very functional. The lense is half moon shaped so you can read and watch tv or look at a distance without having to take them off. Also noticed that they are not scratching easily which shows that the plastic used is excellent quality. Not so great. I bought these for my husband to use while working on intricate tasks (he likes to paint HO model trains, work on his layout, etc) but these just don't cut it for him.

Buy these! They are the best quality, coolest looking glasses I have ever owned. I bought these half-frame readers for 12 dollars. I had been looking for small half-frames for years and couldn't find them. I found these on amazon -- thinking the look was exactly what I wanted. They arrived fast, and out of the box, I was impressed with the quality. I am a finish carpenter and need the correction for detail work and reading a tape measure. I'm hard on glasses and i tend to go through readers quickly because they break or I lose them. I get compliments on how unique and cool these glasses look, at least once a week. Over several months I misplaced both pair, but they never broke or scratched. I ordered four more pair four months ago. I lost another set the first week I had them. I've been on the second set for four months. Three days ago, I accidentally stepped on them while working in a closet. They completely flattened. I assumed they were toast, but since I didn't have a spare set with me, I decided to try to bend them back into position. That was not an easy task -- they are tough as nails. I had to put them in a vice and use pliers on each temple piece to readjust the angle. After several minutes of prying and leveraging, I was able to bend them back into position. Even though I had stepped on them wearing boots, the lenses didn't pop out or scratch. I put them on, and they fit like new. On my way home I stopped at a store, and the young cashier said: "I love your glasses, they are the coolest!" In comparison, I have bought readers from costco, readers.com, and countless other discount retailers, and their glasses break with the slightest bit of use. Not these -- this company has my business for good! ... show more

I ordered these readers for my husband who just had cataract surgery. It would be a month before his final eye exam and was still trying to wear his original glasses for the magnification. He was very resistant to getting but I got them anyway. After I presented him with the glasses he couldn’t stop raving about them. They were just what he wanted (unbeknownst to him) LOL. I luv these reading glasses, I'm 67, in 1987 I had been wearing glasses all my life. Radial Keratonomy came along, I was a Pipefitter Welder so I received the operation for distance, worked great. My eye Doctor Deitz, one of the best back then, all calculations was done with a diamond bladed knife and a template, 1 eye at a time, then 3 months later he did the other. Great, I'm on top of the World, Doctor said to me that one eye he took to 20/20, the other not so much an the reason was around 40 to 50 yrs, my eyes would start changing to far sighted, in other words my vision up close, 6 to 8 inches wouldn't be so good, I'd need reading glasses to see up close. The Doctor did a Great Job, the one eye he didn't take to 20/20, made up for being far sighted and I could weld up close longer than most Pipe Welders. Eventually I had to start using Cheater's, a term for lenses that fit in your hood so up close welds, were easier to see. I didn't like the Cheater's because they was hard to keep clean, an time consuming putting in an out. I choose reading glasses over expensive Cheater's. If I would've had these Optix 55 back then, I would've ordered for instance 2.0 to 4.0, all numbers in between, 4 glasses at every interval and all my Pipe Welding friends would've been BUYING FROM ME. LOL,, The welds we make are in any position, any alloy, any thickness, and if it's called for X-RAY, that's what you give them. I Love these Glasses, wish I had them made the way they are back NOW, back then. Sincerely G.B.
