*If* you and your lapels are small, a skinny tie can be a good choice. These are casual, cotton skinny ties for your not-quite-so-fancy outfits. I mean, sure, you could wear it to a garden wedding/party or a religious service, but it's not going to be for the opera or promenade. I recommend getting the tie on its own, rather than with a pocket square in the same fabric. Not only is there the fashion advice not to wear a fabric square in the same fabric as your tie (coordinate, don't match), but I don't think a pocket square goes as well with the kind of casual outfit you'd find this tie in. The quality is fine for what it is—I'm not ecstatic, but I have no complaints. The pattern I got ("Black/Yellow/White") has small flowers that mesh more easily with other pieces of an outfit. It's not a bold, statement tie. I have those, I love those, but the larger my wardrobe becomes (over 100 ties), the more I look for tie options that I can easily incorporate into a color scheme and overall look, rather than getting more ties that an outfit would merely serve to frame. This pattern also may be misnamed. To both me and my spouse, the flowers (that aren't white look) more orange than they do yellow. This may have something to do with the tiny rust-red lines in them, which may make the yellow-orange appear more orange in sum. Anyway, all that said, I'm happy with the tie! ... show more

I went for the "red/dark blue/green" option. It's not for the faint of heart! It looks nice but obviously is not an understated tie, quite the opposite. This is good for spring/summer wear if you want to wear a tie but don't want to look too stuffy. The colors are rich and the pattern is busy, but nice. It's a skinny tie, at about 2.25" at its widest. One downside; mine came with some sort of perfumed odor to it. There's nothing wrong with the tie quality, but I've had to air it out for a while to get rid of the odd smell. Otherwise, I like it! ... show more

Nice, simple necktie. Love the floral pattern on dark navy - goes well with most of the plain/single-colored dress shirts I have (at least the lighter colored ones). Also works nicely with my navy blazer. Material quality is fairly standard for the cost, so make sure you don’t accidentally machine wash and dry it. I wore this out to dinner tonight — not a formal occasion, just a fun local pizza parlor, and over a contrasting dark chambray shirt. The combo looked great and I took a number of photos! This is a narrow tie, as described in the product info. It does tend to crease easily and the fact that it’s dry clean only might offset the low cost.
