  • Great Scooter. Well built and alot of fun!
Style: Standing Ride (E300) Pattern Name: Scooter Color: Red
The scooter is very nice and durable. The large tires go down our dirt driveway and do not get deflected by stones in the road. My son weighs 100lbs and it really goes well with him on it. It even pulls me around without any problem. The battery lasts quite a while just be sure to leave plenty of time to recharge it when it goes flat. This scooter is pretty stable even when going full speed. It does not turn really tight although I think it turns plenty tight for what you would want. The tires take 45psi to fully inflate. The front is easy but the back is a little tricky. You need to slide a cover out of the way and then line up a hole in the sprocket with the tire valve. The scooter comes with a schrader valve extension that you use to go through the hole and connect to the valve stem. Please take my advice here, purchase a quality extension, made from metal, at least 3 or 4 inches long. The plastic one that came with our scooter leaks and is just barely long enough. Our scooter had about 20 psi in each tire. Be careful when inflating because it does not take alot of air to raise the pressure. Go slow and check it often. The brake works on the rear wheel. Upon assembly it was already adjusted well and works good. If you shift your weight to the back of the scooter when stopping it will work even better. The motor is not speed adjustable. When you twist the throttle it turns the motor on and off. You just keep doing that if you want to go slower. No problems there. The scooter will take off from a dead stop on its own but will speed up alot quicker and use less battery if you help it with your foot at first. When coasting the motor does not spin. The rear hub acts like a bicycles. The scooter does tend to slow down when not under power. I don't mind that because you can slow to a stop without using the brake if you think ahead enough. The charger is simple to use. Be sure to line up the groove on the plug in the side of the scooter and you will be all set. The charger has a light that changes from red to green so you know when it is fully charged again. Just a word of caution here........ I don't recommend using the scooter to chase your dogs through the living room, down the hallway and into the master bedroom. It can only end bad. EDIT: My son has been riding the scooter for some time now. Everything has been fine with one exception. There is a small torsion spring on the tension arm for the chain drive. This spring broke 2 weeks in. Speaking with the people at Razor was just a little frustrating. Be sure that you have a pdf of your invoice that you can email to them if you have any issues! After I got them the invoice they shipped the tension arm assembly to me. It is a snap to change. However, this spring seems to be a weak point and the guy at Razor told me that they have been having alot of them break. I was able to find a spring online, unfortunately Amazon does not carry one. So, be sure to have a pdf of your invoice and the number to razors customer service. They tried to send it with a 5-7 day delivery but that was not acceptable to me. I got them to ship it in three days. It only took two. ... show more

  • Bought the "open box" model with reduced price!
Style: Standing Ride (E300) Pattern Name: Scooter Color: Red
My grandson loves this scooter. He is 8 years old. Very fast. Very well made. Don't be afraid to buy the ones that have an open box. Considerable savings & Amazon backs up their products. At first he was a little leary of riding it. Said it was too fast. But within the hour ... he was riding it with confidence. Now two days later .. he is zooming around the neighborhood (with a helmet) and having the time of his life. I bought the red Razor. Great gift!! ... show more

  • Get yourself a better charger
Style: Standing Ride (E300) Pattern Name: Scooter Color: Red
The scooter itself is great, but the charger didn't seem to turn off automatically and overcharged the batteries causing them to melt and burst. This was when the scooter was two months old.

  • Rocket for small kids but not for adults
Style: Standing Ride (E300) Pattern Name: Scooter Color: Blue
Just bought this for my grandson who is 8 yrs old. I also have the E150 for my granddaughter who is 5 yrs old. I wanted something bigger than the E150 and also wanted pneumatic tires on both front and rear (E150 only has it on front with a solid hard tire in back). The E150 is also really bumpy riding with that solid tire on rear. Anyway got the E300 and my first reaction was "holy crap this thing is huge" (after being used to the E100 series). Right away I was wondering if I may have got one too big for my grandson. When he saw it, he was all smiles (bigger is better of course, heh heh) and he got right on it and away he went. It took him a bit to get used to it as he had been used to riding the E150. I told him if it was too big for him, I'd get him something a little smaller like the E200. After riding it for a bit, he came back to me and said he wanted to keep it. One thing I will say is this thing is like a small rocket with his little body on it (he's short of 60 lbs). In retrospect, if I had it to do all over again, I think I would have got the E200 (which also has pneumatic tires on front and rear) which I think would have been a better fit for him but he's happy with E300. This scooter is also pretty quiet, especially when coasting and it does coast a long way. The battery life before a charge is about 30 minutes (and that's not full speed all the way either). The E150 I have lasts more than twice as long between charges so this thing does use some juice. The claims on this scooter is that it will accommodate 220 lbs. I think that's a bit of wishful thinking. I'm at 190 and this thing bogs down with me on it big time. Goes about half as fast with me on it compared to my grandson and I could actually feel it getting slower not long after I was riding it. I have doubts it would make a mile with me on it. If it would have handled my weight as well as my grandson, I would have given it 5 stars. Motor or batteries (or both) don't seem to be strong enough for my weight. By the size of this thing it looks like it's for adults but it's really only strong enough for kids. Now we'll see how long it lasts. I'll add to this review as my grandson break it in. Edit: Recently the run time was getting shorter only a month after I got it. I think I got a set of weak/old batteries. I called up Razor, told them about it and they sent me a set of new batteries free of charge. Pretty good service from them so that's a plus. ... show more
