Picked this up for my son’s baseball games and it does exactly what it’s supposed to. The retractable stick design makes it easy to apply without any mess. Just twist it up, swipe it on, and you’re done. The texture is smooth, not chalky, so it goes on evenly and doesn’t flake. It really does help cut down on the glare from the sun, especially during day games. My son says it feels comfortable and not greasy, and it stays put even after sweating. We’ve used it for a few games now and it hasn’t smudged all over his face like cheaper brands sometimes do. The size is also convenient. It’s small enough to keep in a bat bag or pocket, and the cap snaps on securely so it doesn’t make a mess in the bag. One stick should last a good while since you don’t need much each time. My son had a Saturday double-header last month. It got well into the 80s by 11 a.m., no shade, and every kid squinting like they were staring into the sun for the first time. Thankfully the Rawlings eye-black stick wasn’t another greasy, half-melted mess. Twist the bottom, it rolls up like chapstick. One swipe under each eye, and he was game-ready in fifteen seconds. No smudged fingers. No black streaks on the uniform. He came off the field two hours later, sweaty and dusty, and it was still there. Didn’t run. Didn’t drip. Just… stayed put. A wet wipe cleaned it off fast before lunch. The tube itself is small enough to keep in the bat bag pocket. We’ve used it at least six games now; still plenty left. It’ll melt if you leave it in the car btw. I found that out the hard way one August afternoon. But that’s on me, not the product.

I recently tried this eye black, and overall I think it’s a pretty good buy for the price. It’s easy to apply and feels comfortable on the skin, which I appreciated. It stayed in place fairly well and didn’t smear too badly during use. For casual games, costumes, or light sports use, it gets the job done! The only downside is that the product is smaller than I expected, and the pigment isn’t as dark or bold as some other eye black products I’ve used. If you’re looking for that super intense, deep black look, this one might feel a bit light. However, for the cost, it’s still a solid option and works well enough — especially if you just need it for fun events, practice, or a quick game. Overall, I’d recommend it if you want a budget-friendly eye black that performs decently without spending much.
