My son was using the two piece Cat X. He was striking out majority of the time. I got him this bat to try, it was cheap, why not try it. He has been hitting doubles and triples since. Even hit a home run. This bat is great for smaller players. Lots of pop.

got both the 27 and 29 in bats to compare. Both are -11 but the 29 in bat "feels" much heavier. Actual total weight of the bat is not available. For those that don't understand "drop weight" well, like myself, note that length is a factor. Loud, solid "pop" sound when hitting the ball.

My kid need a longer bat got him this 27" one, it's his first year and he did a lot better with coach pitching.

My son is a very tall 8 year old, he is home run hitter with this bat, I recommend this bat. I'd also like to say make sure your kid has the right bat size as the wrong size is often something we see and important for learning and hitting correctly.
