No better bat for the price on the market. My son did break the first on within the first 10 swings, but that was due to me mixing up which side he needed to hit with. For those that aren't aware, yes, there is a proper way to hit with a wood bat. Typically the logo needs to face you or towards the catcher. Hitting a ball any other way, will most certainly break the bat. ... show more

Wanted to try out a wooden bat at the batting cages. Found this one for a decent price and went with the 34" bat. Good wood quality with good amount of weight, not too light. Good handle grip but I still added some grip tape for better feel. You can see from the pictures it's been through some sessions, mostly 60 mph and 70 mph pitches as of recently. It's gone through 100+ pitches and is still holding strong, no hairline cracks on the barrel so far. Good bat to take to the batting cages for fun. ... show more

I received the bat and it felt amazing. It looks great and the weight and feel of it was amazing. The balance of it is just perfect. unfortunately after the second time at the batting cages at 70 mph it broke.

We needed a 31" heavy-ish wood bat, drop -2 or -3, for 13U BP reps for a certain hitting program where we alternate heavy-normal-light batting weight in 2:1 ratio. Our previous wood bat broke and we went shopping for a replacement at our local Dicks Sporting Goods. The shopping experience was a huge disappointment, because they mostly stock Marucci models most of which do not indicate the bat weight and on further research a lot of these turn out to be -5 or -6. Or if we would find a proper size/weight bat, it would be a $190 Victus model, or we would find size but not weight. It was a bad experience, and most of the branded bats at the store cost upward of $110 plus tax. A lot of the models have these slender thin handles which will shatter in less than 500 hitting reps. So long story short, this model Rawlings is perfect for our purpose, because: 1. The shape of the handle - it tapers gradually and is not too thin coming from the barrel to the knob. 2. It is cheap and we can put a lot of hitting into it without worrying about breaking a 200 dollar item. 3. It is properly sized and weighted at -3 unlike most Marucci wood models where the weight varies by -1 or more. 4. It seems well made with ample coating on top of the wood and the wood seems to be at pro-level quality based on my visual inspection. Very happy with this purchase. We will put at least 2000 reps through this thing before it shatters. ... show more
