This is my review for the Rawlings Mantra Reverse after using it in the batting cage a few times. First impression, it looks really cool. The grey background with the metallic iridescent lettering, in purple and blue, looks really nice, and not too pink and girly. This is a 2 piece composite bat, so it has the connector piece in the middle, which gives it some flex while swinging. This is personal preference here- I like the flexy feel of the 2 piece bat, but it feels a lot different than a 1 piece. The flex gives different feedback on contact, but it reduces sting, and should contribute to sort of a trampoline effect. It does have a good amount of pop when you hit it just right, and it feels comfortable to swing. It has a balanced feel, and the -9 swings lighter than most bats of this weight. I would say it feels more of a contact bat than a power bat because of the balanced weight. So far after a couple hundred swings, it still feels good. I have had 2 different people come tell me they had the same bat but it didn't last a whole season before it broke. I am hoping that is not the case here, because I like this bat. For the premium price, this is one of the most expensive bats available in the fastpitch lineup, I would hope it would be more durable. I will update if anything changes, but so far it's a decent bat, although a bit more expensive than it should be. ... show more

Awesome fastpitch softball bat! One of the most durable and high performing bats out there, I have been really enjoying it in the batting cages while we wait for the spring! Swings much lighter than the listed weight, with a slight end load. Looks great with a classic softball look with modern flair. This is THE bat for fastpitch and a fantastic value for the money and for the performance. I gifted this bat to the daughter of a friend (coach) across the country. She plays on a team for an international softball league. One of the players on that team is sponsored by a bat company, and she has broken every two-piece bat they've given her, despite them telling her that they are cleared hot out of the box, with no break-in period needed. The bat is nice looking, well balanced, and seems well made, in first impression. The grip tape is well applied, and overall it seems high quality - and it should, given how expensive it is. However, you can find all sorts of information on 2 piece bats, stating that they do in fact need a break-in period in order to prevent, or at least minimize, the risk of them breaking under normal use (game play). I suggested my friend have his players conduct the proper break-in of this bat, however, they didn't do that, and of course, it broke rather quickly. I asked for pictures of the broken bat, however they didn't take any; it just went in the trash. I've never been a fan of this gimmick of 2 piece bats. I think they are way overpriced for something that won't last. ... show more
